Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 21 Jul 2016, 05:11

Good morning. :D

Scorchio. 8-) 8-)

A swim after my coffee. :D

Meeting up with boss lady this morning as I might be doing a couple of hours a morning teaching in August. She runs intensive summer courses but this year I turned it down. It transpires a new student (Russian but has been living in Spain for 4 years) wants an extra boost with his English before his exam early September. I quite fancy doing it so we'll see...... :D

I'm staying in town after that to meet a friend for coffee and cake. :D :D

Masterchef & New Blood on TV tonight so I'm staying in. :D :D

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning!

That sounds like an interesting morning Ally - enjoy the cake!

I was going to the gym this morning but I slept badly last night so I can't be bothered. I had no problem sleeping when the temperatures were high but last night I couldn't get comfortable. I still need to run into town though as I have an Ebay order to pick up from Argos. I'll walk Billy when I get back. Lawns need cutting too.

Food shopping tonight. Oh joy.

Have a good day all! :D

Morning Ally, Jo and everyone

A lovely summers morning :D :D

And oh, the bliss - peace and quiet :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: Just the noise of birds tweeting, water running into the pool - and Grumpy snoring

A tidy up morning, before it gets too hot. They did their best, but they're blokes - and Portuguese blokes at that - so little bit more picking up things and making the pool rea - and our back terrace - back to normal.

Cold chicken salad for tonights dinner and Masterchef.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

That does sound interesting Ally 8-) LOL @ the frog!

Jo, I slept like a log, so much more comfortable than the last few nights ;) Sorry you didn't though :( Have a good day xxxx

You too Ton, soon be floating around in that new pool! 8-) :D Hope you don't get frogs

Well it's a lovely day here, far less humid (that's been terrible) and a little bit cooler 8-) Got a few bits of washing to get out shortly. Hannah got here last night - eventually  We went down to the station to collect her, but she accidentally missed the stop  so had to carry on to Cam and get a train back   So we went home and she got a cab when she eventually got here

We had a nice evening, I made a salad again, with the choice of cold quiche or chicken, and some cheese and red onion focaccia 8-) Strawberry trifle for dessert, not for me of course (allergic) but it was a bargain in Morrison's and I had a yoghurt instead ;)

Going out today with Hannah, to the Quays probably to spend some time down by the water, and Hannah wants to hit the shops down there I think :)

I've got the notes from yesterday to type up, and a script to put together for next week's session (just an outline) but they can wait as I'm not seeing the client again until next Wednesday :)

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning :)
Another beautiful one here, I shall never, ever complain about getting this wonderful sunshine :D

Kaz so glad it went well with your new client, hope it will lead to more for you x
Enjoy your mooch with your niece :)
Ally that would be nice, I loved teaching one to one as you could tailor it exactly to their needs and interests. Tiring though, a couple of hours with just one student.
Ton what have they done with the dogs??

Well we've been having an absolutely lovely time :D Train delays meant V got to Brockenhurst about 5 on Tuesday, we were fine as we'd followed the live updates and it's only 10 minutes' drive away.
She couldn't wait to see the sea, so we drove into town and walked to the quay, sat boat-watching for a while, then walked back up the cobbled hill to Tesco for beer ;)
Came home to dump stuff and chill beer, meet Minnie etc, then we went down the lane to the Chequers where we've been a few times lately. When the weather's good there's nowhere better to sit, their garden is beautiful - plus the food's good, and good value :) I had a lovely piece of fresh haddock, V homemade salmon fishcakes; Bb had lamb.
Back home we sat in the garden drinking and chatting until well after midnight, it was so nice out there :)

Yesterday V thought she should have a swim so we all went to Milford, and Minnie came too :D There was quite a breeze, and big crashy waves, so all she got was a paddle but it still counts when you haven't often seen, never mind been in, the sea :) Minnie of course was in seventh heaven :D
Took Minnie home, then back into town and down to the quay and sat on a bench eating pasties and crab sandwiches :)
V and I had a lovely time in the kitchen making a Middle Eastern feast for dinner, all cold apart from skewered harissa chicken. Turns out she's an ace at really dainty, delicate chopping, her tabbouleh looked like a work of art and got her the most 'likes' she's ever had on twitter :D
Then we played poker; the last hand was all chips in, winner takes all - that'd be me then 8-) :cute: :Hi:

She's going back to London this morning, working later. Bb's working in Southampton so can drop her off at Brock on the way.
It'll sure be a lot quieter without her, but I now have another cousin and his wife coming next Friday, so can look forward to that :D
Hope you all have a good day

Morning all :D

Bright and dry here, quite hot when the sun comes out.

We were up early taking delivery of our new flooring. Pat next door offered her garage for storage, much wiser than leaving it all out on the driveway. Not that we need it just yet, but at least it's here and ready for when they get to that stage. Window men here at the moment, they need to finish off the trim and fit the trickle vents. If they finish in time we might pop over to the garden centre before lunch. Another delivery due this afternoon so more waiting in.

Hope you all have a good day :D
