What Are We Reading In August?

Postby Ally » 01 Aug 2016, 05:31

I'm reading You Belong To Me by Samantha Hayes.

It's fantastic - twice yesterday I actually gasped out loud at the twisty/turny plot! :o

The Angels of Lovely Lane - Nadine Dorries.

I only started it last night but I've read a few of her books and really enjoyed them, they're a bit like Annie Murray but set in Liverpool.

I'm sure I've read this Ally - remind me of the plot again?

I'm enjoying The Other Child by Lucy Atkins :) I had to go look at my kindle then to tell you what the title is, with a book, you see the front cover every time you pick it up but with the kindle, you're just at Chapter 10 or whatever, and I forget the title easier

The Road To Little Dribbling by Bill Bryson. It's one of the few of his I haven't read.

I've also got that on the go Paddy but it's a paperback rather than on my Kindle and I keep forgetting about it. I love Bill Bryson :D

I'm now reading Cocaine Nights by JG Ballard.

Craig gave me a hard back copy when I was over in July with the words: "read this mum, you'll enjoy it". :D

He knows me well. :D :D

Finally read the rest of Between You and me, Lisa Hall, that I started in June
Really well written, but not that impressed with the actual story.
Now to choose what's next, I have a good selection :)

I'm pressing on with The Road To Little Dribbling...it's okay but I'm usually crying with laughter at his travel writing, 170 pages in and nothing's really amused me that much.

On my Kindle I'm reading The Buddha Of Suburbia by Hanif Kureishi. It's been in my Kindle for ages so thought I'd give it a go.
