Slow page transition

I have this problem that when I want to go from, say, Board Index to Cafe sometimes the transition is very slow... it even times out and I get "Web page cannot be displayed". However, if I go back and try again it works, slowly, but it works.

I have tried with two laptops, one on XP the other on W7, with similar results. I have also tried different DNS servers, clearing cookies, and firewall settings, to no avail. All other web sites work fine.

Any help much appreciated.

I might have solved it.

I use Dragon, a Google Chrome clone, with a thing called Adblock. I white listed VV in Adblock, and that helped quite a bit, but digging deeper into the guts of Dragon - no pun intended - I found a other few things to speed things up. They actually speeded everything up, but it was Adblock that caused most of the problems.
