Carpet man

has been and gone :D We've decided on a minky colour (it's called macademia) with a slight fleck - still neutral but a lot darker than the current colour. We're doing this room (living room) both flights of stairs, both landings and the two main bedrooms :D Oh and also replacing the hard floor in the hallway and downstairs loo :) 8-) We're having it done in September as he's going away tomorrow to Florida for a few weeks - business must be good! ;)

Sounds lovely, Kaz.

I love a carpeted floor, and hate wooden floors.
(probably because I was born and bred in Kidderminster).

:P Frank, I knew there would be a Nuts joke in there somewhere  ;)

It is doggy proof, dark enough not to show up every little mark they make 8-) :D

Ally, good 'Trades' are always in high demand, aren't they? :D I love Wanted Down Under 8-) :geek:

Aggers, we had a lovely wood floor in our last house, but Pepper kept sliding everywhere on it so we carpeted ;)

Glad he turned up and you're all sorted Kaz!

We keep toying with the idea of a wooden floor in the hall but the way that Billy launches his way down the stairs and turns quickly and sharply to go in the kitchen at times makes me think that it wouldn't be a very good idea

  I used to have carpet throughout but took it all up and now have wooden floor and don't regret it for a second. The amount of hair the cats would shed, it was horrendous trying to keep the carpet clean - now it's a super quick sweep and all done. I know I shouldn't, but I do laugh when the cats come running in to the house and try navigate a corner but don't quite make it, despite their little legs going at full speed; almost like revving an engine whilst in neutral
