More lazing around today - although I will be printing off the parentals boarding passes and walking into town to post them. :D :D :D :D

Some catch up TV tonight to enjoy. :D

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning

We have had heavy rain all night. When I looked out in the night it was as if there was a river running up the side of the road. It has stopped now but everything looks very wet. It's very dull and cloudy so I don't know whether it will brighten up later.

It's Jim's day for the museum and I will do a few HW jobs and walk round to the Post Office as I have to send a couple of items back. I will try to find a film for the afternoon. Exciting stuff eh?

I hope your day is a good one.

Good morning! We've had a lot of rain overnight too Rodo but it's quite bright now so hopefully that'll spread up north.

I'm taking Billy out in a minute and I've got some housework to do today, apparently we're going for a run tonight. No other plans yet. Tom's got a day off today.

Have a good day all :D

Morning all :)

Ally, that's coming round quickly! :D :D 8-)

Rodo the little road outside my house gets like that when we get a heavy downpour, it can be quite a sight! :o Morning Jo :D It looks like rain here too, wondering what to wear that will be warm enough for now, not too warm if the sun comes out after all (entirely possible, given the way the weather changes here so quickly) but won't weigh much on the scales at WW :P

So another Monday morning, another WW meeting  Not had the most 'focussed' of weeks so not expecting much, but I do enjoy the meetings even when it isn't good news ;) So we'll see :) Will probably go into town afterwards, then home to make some tomato sauce - we finally have a glut of tomatoes  :D

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning all,

Ally my parents are tech savvy (with assistance from time to time). Ever considered getting them a cheap Android mobile which can do the online checkin and download the boarding passes?

Rodo, every once in a while we get a really bad downpour and the road really does look like a river. Then some of the houses flood. Most of my doors are proof against that now, but the front door is a poorly made French one which I'll need to replace..

I've been working around the house. I've fitted a new electric roll down shutter in the summer room, off the first courtyard and built a roof frame over the BBQ kitchen (space it's not finished yet, the roof needs to go in first), in the second courtyard. I'll be boarding the roof today ready for tiling (which Mrs S will probably do) and putting up the hot tub in the area Mrs S tiled in the summer room.

Back to Scotland tomorrow evening but a full day of job hunting and working around the house before I go.

Have a great day all..

Suff - even if my parents were tech savvy part of our fun is me sitting with my mum, booking the flights and then when the time comes printing off and sending her the boarding passes.

It's something we've done for 12 years and I'd never want to change it.

Morning all :D

Overcast at the moment, but apparently it's supposed to brighten as the morning goes on.

We had a nice time yesterday, six couples in the end. Food was okay, no complaints, but probably wouldn't rush back. Good to try different places with company though, be interesting to see where we go next.

Not sure what we're doing today, will need to find something to eat at some time.

Hope you all have a good day :D

In that case don't let technology intrude.. 8-) 8-)

Something I do with my Dad, sometimes for weeks or months, is discuss his computer upgrades or purchases. We set out what he wants and what he wants to get out of it and then we both do research as to how he can achieve it. Eventually, sometimes 6 months later, we come to a list of what needs to be done and what needs to be bought. My dad buys the stuff (sometimes we have to update the list as offers and even products change). Then we discuss how he's going to do things and I give him the software keys he needs to get it all installed.

I fully understand the process even if it's in a different world. If you enjoy it certainly don't change it. My brother, on the other hand, tells my father what he wants him to have then shouts at him when my father does something else. Hence the fact that I'm the first person my father comes to when he wants to set out on a new technological journey, just like your parents on their physical journey.

I can't do the journey planning thing with them; they travel more, in their retirement, than I do and are more organised about it....
