I'm staying either inside or in the pool today - we'll drop about 10C by tomorrow

Jo, that really is appalling, think a complaint would be going their way

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Ton, I was putting in a complaint before they'd even got home.
It turns out that a letter was sent last Thursday (1st) cancelling today's appointment and giving a new date of the 13th. Then on Friday another letter was sent cancelling the 13th and rescheduling that one for the 20th. We've received neither letter as of yet.
Today was cancelled because a doctor is on holiday (surely they should've known that beforehand?) and the 13th due to the doctors strike which isn't happening now anyway.

Tom had two appointments cancelled earlier in the year before finally seeing the consultant on the third attempt.

And 16 minutes car parking at the hospital this morning cost £1.70!

Lucky that John was home though. Joe went for his bus at 12 and I made coffee for us. John was going to drink his before leaving for work. We could hear a helicopter so looked out and it was the Air Ambulance circling above the estate. Just then Joe phoned me and said that the A34 by where he gets his bus was blocked by an accident so the bus was having to go a different route altogether, nowhere near here, so he was stuck! He wondered if his Dad was still here and if he'd drop him off at the bus station to get the next bus. Normally the next bus would've been fine and he'd have got into Stafford 15 minutes before his afternoon started but he'd left for the earlier bus because he wasn't sure where he'd got to go for his class this afternoon so wanted to give himself some extra time in case he couldn't find it. John's dropping him in Stafford though, he can get to work that way so it's not a problem.
