Good Morning Thursday

Postby JoM » 13 Oct 2016, 06:53

Morning all! It's bright here after a rainy night.

Off to walk Billy in a minute and I'll clean the downstairs hall carpet when we get back and then that's the whole house done. No other plans apart from food shopping tonight.

Have a good day all!

Morning Jo, morning everyone :D

Nothing exciting to report this end - usual work day; meeting a friend for a late lunch and then home to catch up on yesterday's GBBO but that's about it.

Have a lovely day everyone x

Morning all :D

Dull and windy here at the moment.

Nothing seems to run smoothly here, the fireplace is fitted but the stove doesn't fit  Not a disaster as it's easily fixed but we'll have to wait 2/3 weeks as they've had to order a new backing. Expecting Steve any minute now, it's grouting and skirtings today. Fingers crossed there's no more drama.

Think we'll be going shopping this morning. Some of the ladies are getting together for coffee this afternoon so I might pop along to that.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Morning all :D

It's a bright but chilly day here. Poor old Mick is back to reality with a bump as he's at the dentist right now getting a filling for a front tooth. Then we are popping D up to Westonbirt later - don't know if I mentioned it at the time, but during our lovely day there last month she lost one of the sapphire earrings that Mick's dad bought her, she wore them as she wanted something of him to share her special weekend. It fell out at some point during the day and we all thought that would be the last of it, but someone found it and handed it in :D They rang to tell her a few days after it was lost, but they were unwilling to post it so it needs collecting. It can be a tricky drive from here, lots of twisty turny roads, and D didn't really fancy making it alone, so we said we'd take her while Mick is still off work, which meant today or tomorrow - and I am seeing my hypno client tomorrow so today it is! I've got some holiday washing in, but am not rushing with it, it will take as long as it takes ;)

We had such a long day yesterday, delays at every stage of the journey, apart from the lovely taxi driver to the airport who told us all about his life and his twin 5 year old boys :D  Queues at the airport, the flight home took almost an hour longer than the flight out there due to weather and then us circling for ages over Gatwick, then delays with the baggage collection, then with the minibus transfer to the hotel to pick up the car, but finally we got home just before midnight our time (so it felt like 2AM to us) but we got a rapturous welcome from the pups, Becky had the house lovely and tidy, and we slept like logs :D It was a perfect holiday even though we didn't do much at all, just sunbathe, swim, eat and sleep - just what Mick needed, it did him the world of good :D

Hope Di and Ally had a great day meeting up :D Love to all, have a good day :) xxxxx

Morning everyone

Another full, grey, damp and blowy day here - but I'm not complaining, honest   Well, apart from Grumpy not letting me light the fire :cute: :cute:

Oh Jen, you are having so many problems  Have a huig. Things will get better, everything will be done and you'll look back on it in a year and it won't seem quite so bad x

Glad you got back eventually Kaz, a long time to get home. Glad you both had such a lovely, relaxing time. Westonbirt is a bit of a pain to get to, isn't it?

I have ironing and Grumpy is going to finish off the staining.

Off to see the architect later today, after a late supermarket shop, to get the pool signed off. I can't do it - I'm down as "E Outro" :cute: :cute: :cute: :cute:

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning, showery here. Thursday so children, they are both here as Michael has a day off school. I'm hoping my parcel arrives this morning so we can go out later, it is marked as out for delivery. Better go and tidy up while they are occupied watching Horrid Henry

Morning all,

Chucking it down here. Which is not such a good thing as I'm getting on the bike this afternoon and riding 300 miles to the port to take the ferry tonight to Portsmouth... <sigh>. Ah well I was thinking I needed the bike in some rain to get the concrete dust off it from all the cutting I had to do in order to get the new sewage pipe connected in the garage. Garage is all concreted up now and drying. Which is just as well.

Today I need to pump the pool out down below the skimmer and put the winteriser in. Then I'm packing and sorting my stuff ready to head out. Work tomorrow.

I'm not sure if I'll arrive at work on time, the ferry arrives at 07:15, I have to be near Kings Cross at 9am. Going to be tight. I'll probably ride up to Heathrow, dump it in the free bike parking at T5 and take the Heathrow Express to Paddington then take the tube in. As I've never driven (ridden), to the location, trying to do that under pressure is not seeming like a good idea. Not with a 28 year old bike which is showing signs of mulishness which I have not, yet, managed to get it out of. Still having fuel problems although it's looking more favourably on speeds over 110mph again. Which means more mpg and easier riding.

Jen, at least it's someone else that is doing the work. Every time that happens to me, I have to do the work to fix it. Like the new stop cock in the free standing toilet I had to change last night. Simple job, should be, undo one nut, pull one clip, change the mechanism and put it back. Of course because it's all custom for the slimline (hidden), cistern, it took me nearly 45 minutes to get it done...

Have a great day all.

Berlimey Suff! Hope you can make all the connections.

As a matter of interest, what winteriser do you use?
