My day with Di & Bry...

Postby Ally » 13 Oct 2016, 08:15

...was absolutely fantastic! :D :D

They have no wifi connection on board the ship so we were just trusting to luck to meet at the time we'd roughly arranged.

Don and I got the train together at Plaza Mayor - I'd forgotten it was a holiday so the trains were running to Sunday hours which meant it was 20 minutes later than I thought. No problem for me...but Don stood a real chance of missing his check in time!

Luckily the train came in on time and I had a whatsapp from him at the airport to say he'd made check in with 7 minutes to spare!

I got off at Malaga centro and walked up to the end of the botanical gardens with the idea of walking right to the end of the port. There I was, waiting to cross the road, when I heard a whooo hooo! Di and Bry were waiting at the other side of the lights!

I've never known 75 seconds of crossing time to take so long! Massive hugs all round and great joy at meeting up. :D :D

Here comes the funny bit - we've had no rain for 5 months. Not a single drop. Not since May 13th which was the day before Di and Bry left on their last visit. The week of their holiday where we had that freaky 6 days of rain. So what did it do yesterday? Rain!

Not a jot did it bother us - we walked up to the cathedral with a view of getting a drink and deciding what to do. We walked past a pub called The Sherlock Holmes. 13 years I've lived here and never spotted it before!

We go in, it's really lovely inside...and that's where we stayed chatting, eating, drinking and laughing for the next 7 hours! :D :D :D :D :D

Goodies of a jar of Marmite, 3 tubes of jelly beans and a gorgeous red lipstick were given to me. :D :D

Before we knew it time had come for them to walk back to the coach that would take them to their ship and on to their next port of call.

Hugs all round again with promises from them that they'll come visit again next year.

They've asked me to tell you that the cruise is 'exceeding all expectations' and they're having a fabulous time.

All hugs were dutifully passed on too. ;) ;)

As I was walking back to the bus station I had a text from Di to say that they'd had a wonderful day and that Di 'loved me to bits'.

The feeling is mutual my lovely, lovely friend. xx

Like Osc, I was thinking of you all throughout the day :D I think we were all there in spirit with you (could've murdered one of those vodkas too!) :D

So glad you all had such a lovely day, weather doesn't matter one bit when the company is good, and chuffed to bits that they're having a wonderful cruise :Hi:
