Ton, I usually go to the pool shop and ask for Hivernage. They take me to the shelf and I buy the most expensive there.

Mrs S, on the other hand, is a real pain about going to the pool shop or allowing me time to go; so she buys whatever rubbish is in the supermarkets. I've just dosed the pool with a double dose.

Pool is drained 6" below the skimmer, sand filter is drained, pump is drained, I'm soaked and it's time to pack the last of the stuff.

Thanks Suff - we're going into Ourique later, to see Nelson (the pool shop man) anyway, so will ask him.

Keep dry x

Ton, Westonbirt is a tricky drive, D isn't keen on doing it these days but we've had a lovely drive out there, such beautiful countryside and the sun has shone :) D insisted on buying us a pub lunch on the way home, so we did a slight detour and went to the Rose & Crown at Nympsfield where they do superb pub grub :D

Suff I don't know how you stand the pace!

Oh Kaz what a pity you had such a long day to end your holiday!! :( It sounds like you have had a smashing time though - that's just the type of holiday we love when we go to the sun....doing little or nothing! :)

I've been Nordic walking this morning, not been for weeks - I'll know about it tomorrow! I got such a lovely warm welcome back from everyone though...they're a lovely little group! Straight to grocery shopping and a coffee and then home to housework. Home alone now though, Tom's at Newcastle dog track and Jen is at Kyle's 8-)

I'm off for a bath shortly....pizza for tea I think :)

Have a great evening! :D

We are home after our cruise. It only rained when we were in La Carona in Spain. So plenty of sun bathing.
Will give you more news tomorrow.

Well I've arrived at the ferry and had a meal. The bike is, almost, back to peak performance and whilst tiring (5 hours on the bike only got off once for fuel at the end), it was fairly easy. Fortunately no Gendarmes about as I left an hour after I wanted to and the road to Poitiers was shut as they had the road up for water pipes replacement.

Mrs S always gets depressed when I go back to work so I always stay around too long before leaving. I'm used to it but I guess, one day, I'll see the blue lights in my mirror.

Not much fun tomorrow either the ferry docks at 0715 and I need to be near to Kings Cross by 9am. I've told them it will be tight and depends on traffic. We shall see, it's London they should be used to it. I'm off to research times from Trains from Guildford. I know the station and the road well, it's less than an hour from the Ferry, well without too much traffic and is a viable stop point. Other viable options are Heathrow T5 but it's a longer run out and I know the M3 is under a lot of roadworks at the moment.

I'll work something out.

I'll be busy tomorrow. I have to get to work then check into the AirBnB and then get my bike back and over to Wembly. Just as well I'm not travelling this weekend or it would be a complete mare.

Suff, hope you made it in time today... and pity I didn't see this yesterday otherwise I'd have suggested Woking Station to get to - it's 25 mins on a fast service from there into Waterloo and not that much further from Guildford really.

Sadly, Ria, so much time getting through passport control that I had little choice but to ride direct there. I took the A34 from Winchester, to the M4, M25, M40 and straight in onto the ring. Missed the turn at Euston as it was wall to wall trucks and could not see a thing. Wound up taking the cycle route through a no entry to get into the street and get parked. Only 1 hour late and with a blinding headache.

Anyway, tis done, I'm in the AirBnB ( a converted Garage with gas CH so, relatively comfortable) and heading out to Oxford street to get some stuff I forgot to pack, then picking up the bike. Bonus for the bike is that it's congestion charge exempt.

Then a lot of sleep. I guess, given I'm only 10 miles from my brother, I'll have to give him a visit some time. Hopefully when he's not Mr Hyde.
