Well!!!!! Not what I expected!!!

My letter of confirmation of the job came from the doctors yesterday so I handed my notice in first thing this morning.

I gave a months notice, as per my contract, but asked if they would consider releasing me early. I gave it to the office manager who was really nice about it (makes a change as she's usually a cow) and she said that she would ring Sally (the boss) to ask what sort of date I could finish.

After 10 minutes she called me back through and said that as it wasn't busy at the moment Sally said I could finish immediately. Either at the end of today or immediately - properly immediately, there and then. I was rather stunned but I opted for there and then!

So I said my goodbyes, gathered my belongings and left. All over and done with by 9.30am.

I've rung the practice manager and I start on Tuesday!

It is. I was dreading working my notice, no matter how short. I was pretty confident that she'd let me go sooner than the one month as its starting to get really quiet now on the build up to xmas and really I have no work for anyone to take over.

I was taken on to build up the lettings stock but to do that I needed to advertise and get flyers out there. I also wanted to do promotional things to get the name out there more. But Sally micromanages everything so everything I've put together has had to go to her for approval.

I did a flyer back in July to drop through letterboxes with other agents signs outside (our properties get them all the time) to tout for business. I was still waiting for her to approve it and give it me back!!!! She has very little interest in the lettings side of the business.

I can't wait to start the new job now.
