Saundra, I was in for a week when I had Chris in '78, two days with Becky in '95 and by 2000, when I had Harry, they were kicking you out next morning - he was born at 7.35pm and I was home by 10am next day!

I drove C in with a police escort at just after 11pm when her waters broke.

In the delivery room a young girl came in, screamed a bit, and was out in minutes having delivered.

Us. 36 hours because Michael refused to come out, breach babies and all that.

Jo, we had a huge Alsatian called Max. He was the softest dog on the planet, really cute, just like Billy. We used to leave the front and living room patio doors open in the summer to let the breeze through. Max used to lie in the hallway and if anyone approached he would sit up, tail wagging. If they tried to come in he would have licked them to death.... once he had had his tummy tickled.

Kaz, he was my favourite pet, ever.

When our black cat Samantha went missing we got a Heinz57 kitten called Trudy to replace her. The sofa was just behind the door and the arm became Trudy's resting place as she grew older. When Max came in the room she would jump on his neck, scrag him, then run off. Poor old Max was paranoid of coming in. He would push the door open then wait, and so would Trudy..... She won every time.

The thing is they were the best of friends. When he went to sleep on the steps she would snuggle up to him between his legs and the two of them would snore away contentedly for hours.

It's been great for next day deliveries but I was looking at a travel book for Tom earlier and if I ordered within the next so-many minutes it said that it'll be delivered this evening between 6 and 10, free delivery. It's just been dispatched so let's see how good they are.

I signed up for it yesterday but only because the item I wanted was only available if I had prime
It was a Sat Nav for my daughter and it was cheaper to pay for one months worth of prime than to buy it elsewhere. They didn't do next day delivery on it, she is getting it tomorrow.

I will use it for my Christmas deliveries and then cancel.

  Growing up we had a Sheltie called Susie and a cat called Moggy. Moggy would jump up on the trellis fence and wait for Susie when she walked past, jump on her back and they would play fight  Susie would chase Moggy up the garden, then Moggy would chase her back down again. Moggy also used to go on all of Susie's walks - not on a lead, just ambling along beside..................

That was Max and Trudy. When I took him for his late night walk she would come along. I think she was in love with him.

Lovely, lovely stories Frank and Kaz :D We were only talking earlier about Bess, John's family dog when I first met him. She was a Bassett cross and so lovely but she had a big booming bark which scared the life out of me the first time I visited. I so loved that girl, she used to come and stay when we bought our house.

With Tom in 97, I was discharged the next day but the hospital misinterpreted a test result of his and had him transferred to the SCBU at Wolvhampton by a very fast ambulance so I didn't actually get home until four days later.
Joe was also a 2000 baby and was born at 4.49am. We were discharged just before 11am, but we were stuck there because John had already brought Tom in briefly to meet him and then they'd gone for lunch, planning to come back afterwards to see when we could come home. His battery was dead in his phone so I couldn't contact him to tell him to come and get us
