That is annoying that they haven't turned up yet, but given the weather I'm not surprised they're inundated with call outs
Could you maybe call the garage you normally take the car to and see if they could pick up a battery from Halfords or somewhere like that for you and then carry out the repair at home for you?

When the locks have de-frosted, try putting oil in the locks.
A good way is to get a small brush with long bristles and push the bristles which have been soaked in oil into the lock.
That is unless you have a small oil can which can squirt the oil horizontaly into the key hole.

Cruiser, I bought a new car last year September so no longer have the problem thank goodness. Believe you me - last winter and these last few cold mornings I have been saying my thanks every morning for a car door that opened
Problem with the previous car wasn't the acutal locks, but the actual entire inside mechanism within the door. The only way to have fixed it would be to take the entire thing apart... new car may have been more expensive but oh so worth it
