Surprise Resignation

Our prime minister has just resigned. I thought he would be there another term after elections next year. Apparently, what do I know?

Politics aside, I'll miss his style.

Hi Weka,

The problem with politicians "with style" is they tend to become irritated with the system that failed to capture them. Those captured by the system don't care.

He seems to be a rarity, a popular politician.

I think that says it all - the job has worn him out. God luck to him in his retirement.

Yes, very liked, but obviously not by all.
A commentary tonight was "between him and Helen Clark, they have both done a lot to restore the publics trust in politicians.

We could do with him over here then. Because there is very little trust left in politicians across Europe (and the US).
