Must be the season for staff nights out - it was ours last night too! Sorry to see one of our longer serving staff members leave, she's going to be a support worker in a house where three Downs patients live - so it was the last time she'd be out with us Hilarious night with great food and drink, and lovely colleagues.

I also had the curtain pole fitted yesterday afternoon (finally!!) and John put the curtains up for me - yayyyyyy!!! I've never had curtains at this window all the time I've lived here, just vertical blinds, and the curtains make it look warm and cosy! Just what I wanted, felt like Christmas yesterday as far as I was concerned!

This morning, hangover free, I have had the house to myself so after I'd had breakfast I got on and put the tree up. I'd not looked forward to this task, but I was still on a high from the night out, and the curtain fitting, so was excited to decorate the house!

Might wrap some presents later, and finish writing the cards out. It's starting to feel like Christmas now in this house

Di, I'm so envious of your walks there!

The journey wasn't too bad I suppose. The way back was the worst, I suppose because the match finished just after 4 so there were 75000 people leaving there at around the time that the shops at the Trafford Centre were closing, two weeks before Christmas. There's also the A556 bypass being built between the M56 and the M6 which is causing horrendous delays.
Thinking back to before the boys were born though and I used to go to most home games, if there was an 8pm kick off I'd finish work at 5.30pm, be home for 6 and I'd get changed. We'd leave the house by 6.15, drive up and park, walk the 10 minutes to the stadium, buy a pie and be in the seats while the team were still out on the pitch warming up. It'd take just around an hour each way. Now it's anything between 2 and 4 hours.
