New Year's Resolutions ......

Postby TheOstrich » 03 Jan 2017, 19:13

So I decided today that I will, at least once every month, descend and ascend Shaftesbury's Gold Hill. :D

It's only so I can fend off the NHS nurses when they interrogate me about the amount I exercise ..... :cute:

Today was my second ascent, thereby overturning Cromwell's record of having done it once! :P

And the time of the ascent, from the crack in the tarmac by the telephone pole at the bottom, to heaving myself over the last step and onto the High Street at the top (if you want to emulate the feat  ) was ..... 3 minutes and 25 seconds! 8-) (With only one stop for a breather three-quarters of the way up, and a 10 minute sit down under the town Christmas tree at the end).

It'll be interesting to see if I can improve on this. :)

 :? Now please do not be alarmed. I am not seeking sponsorship for these monthly endeavours.

But if you want to donate an amount of your choice (minimum sum 1p) to a charity of your own choosing (as long as it's local to you, preferably animal-related, and doesn't employ a Chief Executive Officer earning more than the Prime Minister), please feel absolutely free!

Who else has made a crazy resolution this year?

Dare I admit that I had to google the hill to see what it looked like (don't really watch much TV and only when I saw the pictures did I twig re the ad. That hill is amazing! And well done you Ossie, that is good going. Although I am with Kaz on this one - maybe try aim for once a week vs once a month? :D :D :D Or even twice a month to start with and then build it up from there.

I haven't made any resolutions because I don't really ever stick to them. I know that I need to amend my lifestyle so I'll work on that bit by bit
