Flippin' Staffies :x :x
Just taken Billy out, we were having a lovely walk through the woods. We came to one bit where paths cross and 20 yards along the path which was crossing ours was a bloke with a Staffie. As soon as he saw us he started saying "No! Stay!" Again and again so I sensed trouble and immediately started to get Bill on his lead. Of course the dog took no notice of him, came bounding over in that way that Staffies do and started growling and fighting. I was trying to pull Bill away from him but he just kept trying to push Bill onto his back (and succeeded). The owner finally managed to get the dog off him. Gave him a right mouthful, told him that the dog should be in a lead because it obviously can't be trusted around other dogs ("Yeah, I know. Sorry").
I've got Billy home and thankfully Joe was back. Thankfully because Bill was covered in thick mud so he's had to have a wash on the patio with a bucket of warm water and a jug and it takes two. We've checked him over and can't see any bites or cuts but he's a bit anxious so I'll check again later when he's hopefully calmed down.

Those dogs are such a huge problem around here. I remember a sign in Pets At Home saying that the instore vets neuter Staffies for free, regardless of the owners status.

Jo, it is a crying shame because Staffies can be such lovely dogs. Sometimes we have to put our hands up and blame the owner not the breed, this looks like one of those times. Thankfully it sounds as though Billy will be fine after his bath and a few hugs.

Poor Billy :(
Staffies tend to like people but not other animals, of any kind.
