It has just been announced that MPs will debate the petition: see my quote above for details.

If they stick to the wording of the petition and nothing else, as should be the case, it will be a very short debate.

Being a vulgar misogynist is not illegal and does not come close to some of the things done by other leaders she has shaken hands with.

Now there is a big understatement. But never underestimate the political will to grandstand.

I don't see why anyone should object to Trump visiting our Queen.

Admittedly, he is a controversial figure, but, he was elected by a majority of US voters,
and, frankly, I tend to agree with many of his statements. In fact, in the unlikely event
of my becoming Dictator of the U.K., I would probably do and say much the same as he,
being absolutely fed-up with our present breed of apathetical backbone-less politicians.
