For those of you that know that iconic picture of the cobbled street with the cottages descending and bending round to the right, just round that corner it gets (slightly) less steep and the roadway's tarmacked, which makes it a bit easier to traverse. It bends back to the left and then you're down at the bottom. There are hand-rails down the steepest bit which is a great help, especially if it's wet.
And if you think I'm the only mad beggar doing this climb, I'm not by any chalk; there usually seems to be a number of local folk going up and down it with their shopping.
Anyway, I don't know I'm going to be doing that hill again anytime soon, Di ...... I'm still in recovery mode today!
