Me too!!

Kaz that looks lovely, I hope you had a smashing time, I love how your life is changing what with your exercise classes and your new friends - fab!!

Well we have acquired Charlie! He's another brown tabby, he feels a little lighter than Smudge but having weighed him this morning he really isn't :o I got him from the local RSPCA, not far outside of Durham...went to look round on Thursday, saw him and just fell in love! I picked him up for a cuddle and he has the loudest purr! They do viewing on weekdays 10-4 but collections/adoption is done on weekends between 11.30 and 1.30 so I had to hotfoot it over there after work yesterday. They had neutered him and chipped him, de-flead and wormed him, and he's had his first lot of injections - I get a voucher to present at the vets for his second lot which will be next week sometime. He's so sweet and 'chatty', he chirrups a lot and purrs loads....I still miss my darling Smudge of course and am not going to give up hoping he'll come home but I was becoming very depressed and low with no cat (I know!).

Been a lovely sunny day here today, makes you feel spring isn't far away :)

Have a lovely evening all x

Thanks Gal, and I'm thrilled you have Charlie, to fill your lap and to cuddle xxxxxx

We did have a lovely meal, and A and B are great company :D We all ate the same - two sharing platters of dips (tzatziki and hummus) with fingers of pitta bread, followed by huge plates of delicious Greek salad. The feta was really good 8-) The staff there are all Greek, and the view was out over the water, so if we'd only had the Greek sunshine we could almost have been in Corfu or Rhodes :D

I too have been following on FB. I totally get the need to fill a hole and am so very very pleased for you and Charlie, that you found each other.

I could never imagine not having a cat (or two) in my life

Aww MM that's so lovely - thank you for that xx

It's a funny thing this cat ownership isn't it? I miss Smudge still so very much, and long for his return, but it was really taking over my every waking thought and I knew I had to break this pattern....I know when Tinker died and we got Smudge as a kitten soon after, he helped me 'get over' Tinker, so I think the thought was always in my head to get another, but I really didn't feel ready to look. And then I had such a horrible down day on Thursday I figured it couldn't do any harm....perhaps I'd reached the bottom and the only way was up, and seeing Charlie (or Stuart as he was then!) made me smile properly for the first time in weeks.....and sob!!
