Morning :)
Dark, damp and miserable day here.

Eeeek Kaz, double dose of vitc and a zinc, quiiiiickk! Hope you can see it off xx
Congratulations Ton, blimey really 5 years?!
Well done on the decluttering Aggers, I really should do the same.
10kms is still rather a long way, it's over 6 miles :)
Jen it's hard being stuck indoors isn't it, hope you get a clear bit of weather x
Saundra yes it is noticeably lighter in the evenings now, when the sun's out I have to pull the front curtain earlier, it's so low it's blinding!

Indoor things planned today, towel wash on, things to sort and iron, and more cheesy biscuits to make :)
Hope you all have a good day
x

The sun's out now so we'll be off to the harbour in the next hour. Definitely better than keeping them indoors 8-)

Morning all. Quite mild here, which is nice. hope the lurgy gets better soon Kaz. I've had an upset stomach since Sunday but feeling a bit better now. 10km seems an awfully long way to me Ally!

Good morning all (just!)

It's grey and drizzly here but mild. I've done some shopping and then taken Billy for a long walk. There was a sign in Wilko window this morning saying that they're closing next month, such a shame as it's been there for 28 years according to the lady on the till and some of the staff, including an old school friend of mine, have been there since it opened. It's closing because the landlord is increasing the rent and won't negotiate, they'd obviously rather have a large unit standing empty than back down and do a u-turn on the increase. There are rumours that Boots is closing too.

Kaz, hope you're both feeling much better soon xx

Have a good day all!

That's a shame Jo; the landlord might have someone lined up to take over the Wilkos site. Sounds like it anyway. As you say it makes no sense for it to stand empty.

Greetings all

Gosh too many posts to reply to everyone so I'm going to agree 100% with Di's post - she's summed it up pretty well

Jo, we have a similar problem in Woking - there are two larger shopping centres, joined via a covered walkway. I gather the rents are extortionate and some shops really struggle. They're doing major roadworks in the area at the moment - due to go on for most of this year I think - and traffic to get to / from the centres is a nightmare at the moment so many people are going elsewhere for their shopping. That will no doubt have an effect on the shops and i'll be interesting to see what happens in the next few months

Usual work day for me, but hoping to leave early as I have a friend coming to stay for the night and I'd quite like to get home to give the house a good vacuum before she arrives. I gave it a quick once over but the cats are masters at bringing in half the garden on their tails

have a lovely day all xx

I usually only sweep throughout the week as I've got laminate / wood flooring throughout and only one very short pile rug in the lounge that can easily be swept as well (I have a foam broom - works a charm!).

But yes, visitors mid-week mean a mid-week vacuum :D

Minnie's hair is so long (over 12", a lot of them!) - and tough - we have to first rubber-brush the carpet, as otherwise the hairs wind round the brushes of any and every hoover we've tried.
That ominous smell of soon-to-burn plastic of the roller bits is all too common :(
I've spent a fortune on hoovers, and borrowed others to see how they are, but really there's no answer - other than the smallish, short-haired dog we thought we wanted

Afternoon :D Didn't get around to posting yesterday. I went to Pilates then had to bring the car for the respray of the damage caused in Lidl's car park. I got a rental car in the meantime - I could not see any air freshener in the car but there certainly was that kind of smell in the car, and I think it affected me as I got a headache, sore eyes and felt very tired for the rest of the day and evening. Better today and have been to do the supermarket shop, the smell in the car is less.

I was up in my dressing gown at the laptop this morning, waiting for presale of tickets for the Nashville tour in June. According to Ticketmaster, presale was to start at 9am, but it turned out that that was only for customers of Three and general presale wasn't until 10am  However, got really good tickets, so I'm happy :D Now I am waiting to hear when I can go and collect our car. Just about to head up to the attic and get a few lighter clothes for our Benidorm trip.
