What planet is Theresa May on?

Postby Workingman » 16 Apr 2017, 13:34

She has made a Royal/Presidential style Easter message claiming that the UK is coming together following Brexit!

Does she not know that NI is falling apart, again? Has she not heard the Scottish evil pixie wailing on about another independence referendum. Have the murmurs of Welsh independence not reached her. Are the increasing North - South - South West to South East and London divides not registering? What about the obscene pay of Fat Cats while their workers - the true profit makers - get handouts from the State?

The country, the UK, is divided like never before and it is the woolly, fluffy, pink and cuddly thinking displayed by May, along with government and business London centric actions, that are pulling the place apart.

She needs to take off the rose tinted specs and get out and about a lot more, a very lot more.

So, she should say "the ship is sinking all take to the lifeboats"?

Much of what is being talked about right now is pure conjecture. The only solid fact is that the UK is leaving the EU. Better to start from an optimistic standpoint and try to achieve it. Setting a low standard and failing to achieve it may work for education but in the world economic stakes it's not really a winner.

Oh FCOL, just because the word "Brexit" is used does not mean it is about bloody Brexit! The Universe does not revolve around Brexit!

May is talking about the country "coming together" when there is plenty of evidence of divisions all over the place. Being positive is fine if you are going to do something, but just saying positive things is meaningless without any action.

May was talking about life and people and communities, and she really is deluded if she thinks that "UK" stands for 'United' or 'Utopian' Kingdom.

We've only ever been united in adversity from outside threat. On any normal day we're like a bunch of bickering children...

Oh, for goodness sake, leave the poor woman alone.

I think she's doing a very good job, and is just trying to be positive and to smooth over some
of the ill-feelings that some awkward individuals seem to have.

I think she is right to be positive. The Conservatives seem to have quite a lead in the polls if they are to be believed, so she must be doing something right. Hopefully as Brexit negotiations progress we will see an overall improvement. I hope the Scottish pixie will be proved wrong and that the Scottish people will decide a united UK is the way forward.

Well yes, I think she is correct to be positive, as medsec says - but to be honest, why the compulsion to deliver an Easter message at all?

Unnecessary, really, and in any event, if you look at what she said, she pushed the coming-together, multi-culti, all-faiths angle which is a huge no-no in my book. We have enough of that already from the leftie-liberal-luvvies. So, a resounding raspberry from me.

I guess I'm just one of Aggers' awkward individuals!!

The NHS falling apart - nurses voting to go on strike. The education system a basket case with teachers boycotting SATS, prepared to strike over new grammars and £140m down the pan on failed free school and academy start-ups. 900 care workers a day leaving the care sector because of appalling working conditions. Millions of just about managing (JAM) families relying on state handouts to survive - and they are in work! A 'community' in our midst that refuses to share our values and culture. No-go areas for the police in some towns and cities.

If all of those are 'positive' signs of us 'coming together' I would hate to see what 'falling apart' looks like.

I am having a go at May, and other politicians and authority figures, for their meaningless sound-bite politicking and lack of action. Papering over the cracks is never a good thing, but if that is what they want to do then who am I to complain, eh? ;)
