Ours always seems light too Kaz. Even when the sun is around the back, it shines through into the study which is across the landing from the living room so it streams in that way
I've noticed that Becky next door (we're on the corner so their house is at a right angle to us) often has the living room light on during daylight hours as does the house opposite to her.

Oh yes Frank, those temperatures are fine by me. Anything higher and I start moaning.

Had a weird experience earlier. The rain stopped so I decided to walk into Hednesford (and it's not a 5 mile round walk like I thought, it's 6.5 miles and very hilly). Anyway I was nearly there and saw an elderly man walking towards me. I smiled at him and he stared back and he just didn't look like a very nice person. It sent a chill through me. I had that horrible uncomfortable feeling of being watched as I walked away. I turned around and sure enough, 10 yards away, he'd turned around and was watching me. This carried on until I went around a bend in the road 100 yards away and he went out of view, but then I was worrying in case he was following me. That was silly really because it was on a busy residential road but still. It wasn't nice.

I've been into Sue next door's house a few times, and her living room is identical to ours, but otherwise their layout is different, they have a separate dining room and kitchen which seems much darker. We are the only two houses that have an open aspect, over the park, the rest are opposite other houses as we are on a bend in the road.

My friend Emma has been into our other NDN's many times, as she is an old schoolfriend, and also cuts her hair. She says their house, again a different layout, is much darker than ours!

Ooh Jo, I have only ever had that vibe from people a couple of times, but it's very chilling. Last time was here in the city centre, I was walking under the railway bridge, just before you get to the city centre, and this young man in a hoodie was walking towards me. As we passed he looked me in the eyes and a feeling of utter dread filled me! He was evil, I am sure of it

Saundra, I know. I always try to smile at people though because you never know, it might make someone's day. They might not have seen anyone else.

It's a shame I didn't have Billy with me. There's been a few times when I've been walking him and he's stood still and growled at someone and it's not like him at all as he's usually very friendly.
Actually, if John's sister's husband comes here he growls and glares at him all the time he's here (mother in law is chuffed to bits about that!).

Jo, a friend of mine has started teaching self defense classes, and one of the things they teach you is to always look straight at people when you walk by them, so what you're doing is right; look and smile (don't glare as that may give them an excuse to start off on one). Often people who are intent on doing something rely on you feeling uncomfortable and avoiding eye contact and looking away as you pass, which to a very large extent means you won't be able to describe them to the police should something happen. Whereas if you look at them they know you've 'clocked' them and taken note of details and chances are they won't take the risk

It's quite an interesting course and even during the first 2 hours learned quite a bit
