Mushy peas

Postby Workingman » 13 May 2017, 11:23

Yummy.

They were soaked overnight with a tablet of bicarb. Now that they have been rinsed a cauldron of them is bubbling away nicely. I have just put in ¼ teaspoon of bicarb to drive off the acid so they should be ready in about ten mins. Then I can sugar and salt then to get the taste just right and it will be pork pie and mushy peas for lunch.

Love mushy peas, I've never made them myself though.

Talking of peas, I'm going to have to make a homemade version of Nando's macho peas - peas slightly mashed with chopped mint and chilli added.

Que?

Rodo's not from Lancashire, she's a suvverner who got out the wrong side of the bed this morning.

Doesn't like Eurovision, pork pies, mushy peas, black pudding, and thinks cod is the only fish in 'fish 'n' chips'. ;) ;) ;)

You, on the other hand, have no excuse. :P :P

As a child I hated mushy peas but I like them now. Luke once said to me "your peas are getting on my nerves" but guess what
