We were at the removal earlier on, when the remains were brought to the church - where we live, there is a tradition of coffins being carried to the church from a certain point in the town and the people then walk behind the coffin as it is carried. Huge crowd tonight, and during the ceremony the crowd spilled to outside the church. I expect there to be as many people, if not more, tomorrow for the mass. Miss Osc texted me to say that Michael's entire school will be forming a guard of honour.

Osc, that is so sad. She was obviously a much loved member of the community and having so many people there must have brought some comfort to her family.
