Public service announcement ....

Postal Voting.

Please be aware that due (no doubt) to Government Cutbacks, the gum on both your Envelope A and your Envelope B will simply be too old and dried out to effectively seal them.
You may therefore find yourself having to use Sellotape.

Further Advice for those aged over 60.

If using Sellotape, probably for the first time in a decade, please allow at least 15 minutes to find where the end of the reel is.
At least you will be able to vent your fury on that, rather than any of the four major political parties.

Which reminds me of an anecdote in The Times recently. One of their columnists had, sometime in the past, stood as a parliamentary candidate (I forget where or for which party). He didn't stand a chance, and was duly defeated by a wide margin. But protocol being protocol, he and all the other candidates were called over to review the spoilt ballots, to see if any should, in retrospect, be counted. It was generally agreed that if there was a mark of any description against a particular candidate, it should be included in his tally. He reported that he had his count increased by three votes by virtue of the word "w*nker" written against his name!

Our local Monster Raving Looney candidate drove past me today, as I walked back from D's. He was driving some sort of trailer thingy covered in slogans, and shouting through a loud hailer! :o   I shan't be voting for him, although to be honest he would probably do as well if not better than the present incumbent!
