Good morning Sunday

Postby Ally » 28 May 2017, 05:23

Good morning. :D

Hot and sunny. 8-) 8-)

A swim is today's choice of exercise.

This afternoon we're off to the Medieval festival. There's over 150 attractions, stalls, live music...it's a fabulous day/night out. It's a 3 day event (started Friday) and attracts thousands of visitors so our little town is a bit mad at the moment!

Lots to eat and drink there so that's lunch and dinner taken care of.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning Ally, morning all :)
Lovely here at the moment but lots of rain and storms forecast, typical bank holiday weather!

We had no plans to go out, we're decorating :)
Two walls of the sitting end of the l/room, possibly one the dining end if it goes well.
The other wall has a large, full sideboard and a big dresser, so lots more moving work, we can't do it all at once.
Also new curtains for the front (almost the same as the old ones), and of course those bookcases to make but that's for tomorrow :)

Ally that sounds lovely! :)
Hope you all have a good day

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

Would have posted much earlier but been having minor disaster. Forgot to put the lid on the coffee pot, turned the machine on and by the time I realised we had coffee everywhere

Got the front planted yesterday and all the washing done. Still haven't cleaned the house so really must have a go later this afternoon. We were supposed to be having the boys today, but Z&M had to cancel, M needed emergency dental work which swallowed the money they were planning to use for the hotel stay tonight. Shame as the weather's so nice, but as E says they wouldn't have had much fun getting home in all the bank holiday traffic tomorrow. She's hoping to bring the boys here for the day on Thursday.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Good morning here. It's dull but quite warm. We don't have any rain forecast until late tonight.

I got up early to walk Billy, John had left for his bike ride when we got back. I did see him before we went out though. Joe's still in bed and Tom's having a day around London. We've got to pick him up from the station late tonight. Wolverhampton if Shannon's going back to the flat or Cannock if she's coming here. The plan was that she was going to stay on the train at Birmingham and go through to Wolvo and Tom was going to get a train to Cannock but we're not comfortable with her walking across Wolverhampton on her own late at night so I asked Tom to make sure she gets back to the flat okay if that's what she wants to do, or she can stay here. Honestly, I've never felt as uncomfortable walking anywhere as I do in Wolverhampton. When we went for a meal for Joe's birthday it was still light as we were walking back to the flat and two homeless girls asked for us for money. We said we had none, carried on walking and they started following us. John said afterwards that it had really unnerved him. We'd also been approached for money on the way back there a few nights before :? Actually it seems to have happened every time we've walked from the city centre down to the halls. Usually, if one of them gets a late train back the others will all go up to the station to walk with them so that they're not walking alone but, apart from the girl who's been causing problems and her boyfriend, there's no one else to meet her now and it's unlikely that the other girl would put herself out to do that.

Have a good day all!

Afternoon all, dull here, cooler than of late but still warm. Mr Osc spent the morning putting together music for a social dance being put on by friends in a couple of weeks while I pottered around doing stuff in between giving my opinion on the suitability of various tracks. Then we went to meet Miss Osc and Michael at the local astro pitch so Mr Osc could help Michael with his bike riding - he is struggling to get a balance and there seems to be a nervousness there, no doubt going back to the fall two years ago when he did such damage to his elbow. Then we played football, Mummy and Granny against Grandad and Michael - the boys won although the girls did not do too badly ;)

I have to do some ironing this afternoon......

:? That's very interesting about Wolverhampton city centre, Jo. Birmingham city centre on a Saturday evening, waiting for a bus outside the Square Peg, wasn't exactly a fun occupation, but it wasn't so much the beggars, it was more the "crazies" trying to engage you in conversation that used to worry me. I was always concerned about mugging / distraction pickpocketing. TBH, I started getting the first bus out, even if it wasn't my direct service (which ran every 20 minutes or so).

A trip to Salisbury Hospital this morning for an ultrasound scan. Thankfully, (a) no evidence of kidney stones or associated organ problems being the cause of my bout of 48 hrs lumbar pain a couple of weeks back and (b) Ossie isn't pregnant! Mrs O insisted on driving me there, which was lovely, especially as it was a "destination" we hadn't visited before. Traffic was reasonably light on the way out, but a fair bit heavier on the return. We stopped off at The Grove Inn in Ludwell on the return journey for Sunday lunch out; turkey roast for me, goat's cheese ravioli for Mrs O, both very nice. Glad to get back home, though ....
