Never in my life have I seen a fire anything like the fierce one that has consumed the Grenfell Tower in London.
It is clearly obvious that something was radically wrong with its construction or with something done to it later.

Many tears will have been shed over this matter, but something needs to be done without delay, to appease the
many people living in similar buildings, who must be now worried sick.

The "Stay Put" policy, which was given to residents, might be appropriate for some buildings, but was obviously
not so in this case.

Let us hope and pray that lessons, learned from this tragic occurrence, will produce appropriate measures soon.

Sadly, nothing is going to compensate those people who lost everything due to others who make huge profits by doing things on the cheap. It's not as if nobody knew that this was a catastrophe waiting to happen. But I'll tell you now that nobody will pay for this in any significant way, no jobs lost, no heads rolling, no blame will be accepted - that insulting phrase "lessons will be learned" will be trotted out once again Theresa May has already said "IF there are any lessons to be learned" er yes Theresa, there are

What is being kept from us?

A tower block of 24 floors and 120 flats goes up in flames during the night when most residents would be expected to be home and in bed and the figures do not match up.

There are only 17 confirmed dead and 18 other are critical from 78 hospitalised. There are claims that there were between 400-600 residents, does nobody have a true figure, and we do not have a clue as to how many escaped.

I have thought that a roll call of those from the flats and their location, floor and flat number, would be a priority, yet all we have is that *dozens* are stil missing.

And Osc is ever so right - no sackings, no rolling heads, no prosecutions (if necessary) nobody taking responsibility and of course *lessons will be learnt*: again.

To be honest, I think there are many more bodies to be found, I believe they have not been able to enter flats on the top three floors. We are looking at the horrifying prospect of entire families being lost, I fear. Possibly they are being very cautious about numbers lost, but any thinking person will realise that the final figure will possibly be in the hundreds - I would really love to be proven wrong.

Oh and I was very disappointegd to see that TM only met members of the emergency services, not any of the residents - far important to continue her courtship of the DUP, I presume.

The fire service representative this morning was pretty honest, she said that yes they had managed to reach all floors, but not yet all flats on all floors.
I suspect quite a lot of them are completely unsafe.

Another thing that shocked me is that there is allegedly no coordinated service at the hospital (St Mary's) for relatives searching for the missing! One man was outside there, desperate to find his 12 year old daughter but was told to ring a helpline!!! This is inexcusable

Same with the stabbings in Lodon the other week. Distraught relatives had to wait four days in some cases, to find out if their loved one was alive or dead. It's unacceptable.

It is horrific Cromwell, but it has to be safe for those men to go in. Nobody in there is still living, we don't want any more fatalities

Sorry Kaz, I should have been clearer that I meant the delay in identifying the victims of terrorism in the London attack. It's obviously very dangerous on the inside of that tower block and safe recovery of the deceased will be slow.
