Goodness I put out washing at about 5pm, including jeans and some dripping wet hand washing, with the idea of leaving them out overnight. I have now taken them all in, bone dry except for the jeans!

I can see the clouds, I can hear the thunder but we're not getting the rain

In some ways, I hate this time of year.

I love the heat, but I really hate the amount of fires we get.

There is one in Funcheira, not too far away at the moment, there was one yesterday in Panaois, again, not too far away.

There have been a couple near Castro Verde, Almodover, Reliquias, Aljustrel and Odemira.

And some stupid barsteward is actually getting his or her kicks by lighting them.

We have to have a plan, should we have a fire near us and we really should go along the track to the right, to check out the viability - it will get us to Castro de Cola and then onto the IC1.

But anyway, if there is a fire to the left, we'll drive to the right anyway.

And Grumpy won't leave without Molly, so I think I'm going to get the catbox up from the pump room tomorrow, just in case.
