Morning all why did I go to bed still I read a brilliant book to keep me company
Well we have the town back to ourselves today after a 2hr tailback at 7last night
It's forecast to be hot again must keep watering the plants
It 8yrs today since my husband died time goes by so quickly hope everyone has a good day

There are now 1500 people fighting the fires up north / cannot imagine what it is like. Just awful.

We are going to Beja this afternoon / now that will be hot / for grumpy to have his scan or x ray or whatever they will be doing. No doubt we will be there for a while, so we will have dinner at the Palma on the way home.

Well we ran the fan in the bedroom until we were ready to sleep, and did actually sleep pretty well until Mick's phone went at 6am with a callout! Of course the dogs wanted to go out once awoken, so that was pretty much that!

Usual Monday here, WW this morning, then meeting B in town afterwards, she will join Emma and me for a cuppa and a bite. She needs some new work clothes for this new job that starts at the weekend, so wants to look for some, and then has a shift later this afternoon at Hallmark.

Mick is walking the dogs before it gets too hot for them. We wet towels for them yesterday ( their old bath towels) to lie on, that seemed to cool them down quite a bit, they do suffer in this heat

I went on a long bike ride early this morning - I had a pang of guilt last week when I realised said bike has been sadly neglected this year!

I really enjoyed it and have just had a swim.

Nipping to Lidl later for a few bits.

Good morning all, I got up at 5.45am to take Billy out. Even that early it was becoming unbearable.

Joe's meeting friends in the park shortly. I've told him not to spend all day there, he'll be sunburnt if he does. Tom's working at 11. I must go and wake him, he needed a good sleep though after walking around London all day yesterday. We picked him up at the station when his train got in at 11.20pm. Them both being out will give me an easy run with the hoover

We've only just got up so not sure what we'll be doing for the rest of the day. E's just off to get the papers, expect we'll get comfortable in the garden, doubt we'll be going far. After all the hassle and stress of last year it's lovely to see the plan come together.

Eldest rang to wish Bb happy fathers day and casually announced he'd got his results - we'd been waiting - and he got a first
Very proud of him.

Hope you're all surviving the heat, everything possible is open here, upstairs curtains drawn, etc. Helps make the nights bearable
