Morning everyone

Late start for us all this morning then ;)

Bit overcast here this morning, but warm 8-)

Washing machine on, veggie watering done, just a day for chilling. Although Carlos, our nice neighbour will be coming up either today or tomorrow to help Grumpy put up an outside switch and lights for the pool wall :Hi: :Hi: His wife will come up for a glass or two of wine and a chat, bringing their lovely dog Toby. Molly will just go into the next field ;)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Kaz and Jan! MrsC is back from Scarborough, happily she didn't push her dad off a cliff. The words "Never again!" have been uttered a few times though. It's nice to have her home; it's been strange not having her here.

Molly sounds like a sensible cat!

Story of my life

Bit dull and overcast today, think we could be in for some rain later.

Washing's on the go, not much else happening here, need to pop out for a few bits and that's about it.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Morning :)
Ally I couldn't do that any more, but then you live different hours don't you :D

No late start here, Bb was out to work quite early as he had a way to go, and I was out to w/rose soon after, to beat the rush.

Cloudy and drizzly here but supposed to clear up. I do hope so as it's the hospice annual family day today.

Aww Cromwell, I hope you told Mrs C you missed her :)

We're going out again tonight :)
Friend D is down, with two friends (both of whom we know), so we're all going out for dinner, to a local pub that several of the craft ladies recommended.

Hope you all having a good day

Afternoon all, nice enough day here with sun and clouds. We are awaiting the builder yet again, said he would be here by 11am but we knew that wouldn't happen and he has not arrived yet. Mr Osc went to see Michael playing football earlier, then when he came back I went and washed the car - got it parked close to the house last night, so took advantage of the opportunity to get rid of the seagull poo, no doubt it will have more on it the next time I look  No other plans for the day, just the ironing which really can't be ignored any longer. There is a nice piece of ham simmering away in the slow cooker, which we will have with sweet potato fries and cauliflower, with plenty left for tomorrow.

Good afternoon, folks!

To town this morning as it's a day of various Fetes and Frivolities. Started at the local library, where the activities were mainly for children but there were three interesting exhibitions - a stand from the local environmentalists who are watching the water quality on the local rivers (upstream from us, an old factory has recently been demolished for housing development and there was a leakage of fuel oil into the river, which thankfully was stamped on pretty quickly).

Then there was a video display by Somerset Illuminated Carnivals. Those who know the West Country will know of this tradition; the biggest autumn carnival float procession on the circuit is usually at Bridgwater and has in the past attracted tens of thousands of spectators. The tradition apparently can be traced right back to the 1605 Gunpowder Plot and the subsequent decree that the saving of the Houses of Parliament should be celebrated, by law, by an annual bonfire in every town; the first major Somerset carnival procession allied to the event was in the 1880's. But carnival is now in decline - insurance, health and safety, and the sheer manpower needed to build and tour the floats.

Finally, the local Waitrose drinks expert had a wine-tasting stand. We chatted about English wines and he said yes, they're steadily improving year on year, and white / sparkling wines are the best local fayre. In fact Waitrose has recently started growing grape vines locally on some of their sponsored farms.

Then to the Church Fete, where amongst other things, you could pay to have your teddy bear parachuted off the top of the church tower. Managed to win two prizes on my five tombola tickets, a bottle of Shiraz and a travel wash-bag gift pack! By that time, a sharp shower had set in, so repaired to the church hall for a welcome cuppa and cake.

Now back home recovering ... :D

It's been a normal Satruday for me, not much sleep as I have a nasty cold and my throat is scratchy, I was snuffling all night, and clearing my throat loads more than normal (silent reflux?) managed my last morning at work before my TWO WEEKS HOLIDAY!!!!! :D :D :D :D

It's lovely atm, sunny and quite warm but there is a stiff breeze. I went with Tom while he looked at a car...he's ended up buying it, on his own, no John there to help advise....anyway its very nice, it's a 2009 Vauxhall Zafira in dark grey, 7 seater. It's a VAST improvement on the Berlingo which he has had for the past 7 years...slight downside is the high mileage but hopefully that won't be a problem.

Chinese takeaway tonight and then off to spend the day with the kids tomorrow at the caravan before they head home and we stay!!! :D :D 8-) 8-) Very much looking forward to this break.....we'll use my car though, as trying to sort insurance and tax out on the weekend is a trial!!

I won't be taking any gadgets with me to the van apart from my kindle since there's no internet on site, so see you on FB or next Friday! xxx
