It has taken many years but now he has given up full time work and does part
time to have more time for his music. He is taking a music teaching course
at uni and also gives guitar lessons so things are beginning to look up for him.

Thanks for the link Lissie, he's very talented! I hope it all works out for him.

We have a nephew who has gone in an opposite direction. He was in a band for years, they had a large fanbase locally and they actually won a battle of the bands type contest to tour as support for someone who I can't remember right now. Some of the lads went away to university though so left the band and those remaining found it hard to get replacements so it all sort of fizzled out which was a shame as they'd worked so hard. O eventually did a degree in sound engineering and does some studio work now, he worked with members of Slipknot quite recently.
