Afternoon all, it's a lovely day here. Feeling much better and had a really good sleep last night. I had washing out early and have been working my way through my to-do list. My brother has just been on the phone for a chat, he thought we were going tomorrow - he is going away on Monday and I thought he was going the following week, we really should pay attention to what we are saying to each other  My sister is looking after Michael and Kellie later on, so she said she would pop in. I am going downstairs now to actually open out the suitcases, so that is a positive start to packing ;)

Oh she will

Rather warm now, so she's sleeping out in the field next door somewhere. She'll be back later ;)

Good afternoon, all! It's turned out quite nice now after a cloudy start.

We spent yesterday trundling and bickering our way round the local garden centre, which is run by the disability charity Scope, on a mission to buy this winter's panolas for the front borders (pansy/viola cross which are reputed to be hardier than most). They have a huge nursery greenhouse there and grow their own, and we were very pleased with last season's plants. The two bones of contention are quantity (Mrs O is a crammer, I prefer to give 'em a chance :D ) and colour (just don't ask! ). We upped the quantity from 18 to 24 at Mrs O's insistence and I managed to persuade her to include 6 of the yellowy white variety. We planted them out yesterday afternoon and it was soon obvious we'd undershot the numbers, so it was back to the garden centre this morning, where the lady who manages it fell about laughing as we grumbled our way up the bedding plants aisle again. 8-)

So another 18 (!) bought, and now we have too many! We've planted up 3 troughs in the back garden, leaving 4 stragglers to go into a terracotta container ....

Enjoy your day, folks. Hope all went well at the docs, Aggers.

Good afternoon all. Late on parade again. Yesterday was spend tidying a grave up (that should be on the /random thread!) and today I've taken a box down at son's new house.

To be more specific it's a box that covers the old electricity fuse box and meter. The house is an old terrace and the box is (was) sited in a corner of the room, where the wall meets the ceiling, so awkward to get at.

Anyway, long story short it's down now thanks to a bit a sawing and some judicious use of the old Manchester Screwdriver, aka hammer. I tell you what though, the people who put those boxes in didn't intend for them to come out again. Blimey O'Riley, it was built like a battleship!

Anyway the rest of the day holds a supermarket shop and an early night. I'm glad your leg pains are improving Aggers.

I hope everyone has had a good day.

I'm liking the new bathroom Saundra, not missing the bath at all. The new shower cubicle is nice and roomy too!
