Good afternoon, all! It's turned out quite nice now after a cloudy start.
We spent yesterday trundling and bickering our way round the local garden centre, which is run by the disability charity Scope, on a mission to buy this winter's panolas for the front borders (pansy/viola cross which are reputed to be hardier than most). They have a huge nursery greenhouse there and grow their own, and we were very pleased with last season's plants. The two bones of contention are quantity (Mrs O is a crammer, I prefer to give 'em a chance
) and colour (just don't ask!
). We upped the quantity from 18 to 24 at Mrs O's insistence and I managed to persuade her to include 6 of the yellowy white variety. We planted them out yesterday afternoon and it was soon obvious we'd undershot the numbers, so it was back to the garden centre this morning, where the lady who manages it fell about laughing as we grumbled our way up the bedding plants aisle again.
So another 18 (!) bought, and now we have too many!
We've planted up 3 troughs in the back garden, leaving 4 stragglers to go into a terracotta container ....
Enjoy your day, folks. Hope all went well at the docs, Aggers.
