What Are We Reading In October?

Postby JoM » 30 Sep 2017, 23:39

I'm reading Star Fish by Nicola May. Very, very lightweight, I'd read one or two of her books before and enjoyed them but this isn't so good, it's very predictable and I've already decided who the main character is going to end up with (it's about someone using a dating agency and you just know that she's going to end up with the agency owner) even though I've only read 10% of it so far. Might give up and choose something better.

I shall be trying to get back into reading with At First Light by Vanessa Lafaye, it's a kindle offer for 99p at the moment.

Vanessa is a fb friend of mine who happens to be an author. This is her second book, they're not at all girly.
This one is set in the American south and is about the Ku Klux clan, the reviews are terrific.

I've given up on Star Fish and I'm now reading War Babies by Annie Murray.

Freya North's The Turning Point. I must have a hard heart as the reviews were all over it but I felt a bit 'meh' reading the end.

Think I'll try The Bay at Midnight by Diane Chamberlain next.

I enjoyed The Turning Point, Gal. I was a bit miffed that it didn't have the ending I wanted though.
I looked up the area where Scott lived and it made me really want to visit.

Yes it sounds fabulous doesn't it? Did you think they'd both end up living there together? I did.

Yes! I really wanted a happy ending with them living happily there (his house sounded amazing!)
