Accommodation

The Union Jack club is full tonight. So yesterday I booked a double room at Victoria Apartments. Good deal and booking.com took my card details as always.

Today I received my invoice and thought nothing about it as I had paid (thought I) and I had until 10pm to get there.

So after work, off I headed to pick up an Amazon parcel. When I got out of Holborn station I received a message that they had cancelled my reservation. No answer on the phone so I checked the Invoice to find a PayPal link in it. Seriously unamused I stood on the street and searched for another hotel. Booking.com found me St Joseph hotel near Earls court. Off I went on the Picadilly line and found the hotel. Checked in and headed upstairs to find a Police crime scene on the Second floor and signs of blood on the carpet.

I had to give my name and room then headed up to my room on the third floor. To open the door and find the en suite smelling like a sewer.

Well it's only for one night. I headed out for food and heard, at the Kebab shop, that someone had died in the hotel over the weekend and there was suspicion of Murder.

I checked the local news and, sure enough, that was what it said.

Oh well, back to the club tomorrow, at least it will smell OK.

Blimey Suff!
I remember years ago going to a concert on my own and staying in Earls Court. I was followed to my room by some fella. I thought he'd gone and then half an hour later there was knocking on my door and someone, I presume the same man, asking if he could come in. Obviously I didn't answer and left early the next morning.

Crumbs Suff, that's a bit of a worry :(

Was there no space at the Travelodge by Waterloo, that at least may have been a bit safer? Must say - Earls Court has never been a favourite part of London for me

Well I was happy with the Victoria apartments room. I only took Earls Court because I was standing on the road at Holborn Tube station on my mobile, trying to book a room at 7pm because the Victoria lot had just cancelled my booking.

When you come out of Holborn there are several signs warning you to be careful of your mobile.

Ria, cheapest room at Waterloo, or in the environ, was £250. The Victoria room was £49 and the Earls Court one was £40. You get what you pay for as they say.

I can hack most things for a night. The big, grough, but pleasant, when you took the time to talk to him, police officer of the night was replaced with a rather pretty policewoman in the morning. Making the who experience less intimidating.
