We have an injured Grumpy

Postby JanB » 18 Nov 2017, 17:20

He was getting rid of what was a huge estevas plant that I cut down over a year ago, and we left it, as the stems would rot and make it easier to pull out of the ground/break off.

Dozy berk only cut his hand open

He's always telling me to wear gloves, as we have scorpians and other nasties in the garden - so there he was, bare-handed

A lot of blood - mostly on the kitchen floor and sink, but it's a nasty cut between his thumb and forefinger - on his right hand   He wouldn't and won't let me take him to urgencia in Castro Verde, so I've padded it as best I can and he had a couple of brandies to numb the pain 8-)

Been down to the bar, got a lot of sympathy, but I'm having to help him with changing clothes, putting shoes on. Should be fun and games for the next few days. At least with tonights dinner, he can just use his left hand. Tomorrow, we had planned a lovely steak meal, so I'll have to cut his steak up for him

He can go to the bathroom on his own though

He said the throbbing has stopped, just a tingle now - so as he normally heals really quickly, I'm hoping it will be okay. I cleaned it as best I could and he's up to date with his tetanus.

He's a complete wimp about stiches, hence not letting me take him to urgencia

I was given long and very firm instructions on how to light the fire tonight :cute: :cute:   :cute: :cute:

Ouch!! Poor Grumpy :( Sounds like you could do with getting some steri strips in, and keeping for emergencies! They work well in place of stitches, for smallish wounds xxxx

Poor Grumpy. It sounds an awkward place to be cut.

Ouch, glad the pain has reduced to a tingle. Another brandy should sort it

he's up to date with his tetanus

That was my first thought ... :? - a very good thing given the circumstances. Hope it heals up soon.

He'll have one before he goes to bed - as I will, not a pretty sight, all that blood :( :(

I'll have to translate that Kaz and see what we can get. I realised that we're a bit lacking in the emergency stuff - some of the strapping stuff didn't really stick and the lint  Must have had that for years....
