Good morning Monday

Postby Diflower » 11 Dec 2017, 07:32

Morning :)
It's foul out there, ferocious wind with ice/sleet lashing down.

Out early for yoga, the last session till next year, followed by coffee, then to the hospital for bloods.

Hope Ally's flight is airborne.
Take care everyone

Morning all :)

Hope your day goes well Di xxx

I think Birmingham airport has delays, but is moving. Fingers crossed for Ally! XX

Morning Saundra :)

Well the snow has thawed a bit here overnight, so as the buses are running I'm going to WW, as usual. I was 2lbs from my target last week, and have been pretty strict this week, so am wondering if today might be the day I finally get to Gold!  ;) Deep breaths and fingers crossed!

Mick has risked the weather and driven to Cheltenham, he's having his new dental plate fitted today. If it freezes again tonight I shan't risk going to zumba.

B has a sore throat, but has gone to work. She's hoping to hear that she'll be kept permanently, so doesn't want to take sick days :? :o

Have a good day everyone, take care xxxxx

Good Morning all.
Bitter cold and wet but no snow at the moment although it is
forecast.
Son is flying to Edinburgh on business this morning so i hope the
weather up there is ok.
Got to go out at some point today to get the Turkey etc as family
are coming for their Christmas dinner this Sunday.
I have saved £15 on my Iceland card so will go there to get it.
Stay warm and don`t go out unless you have to.

Morning everyone

We have sunshine, clouds, rain and wind   But it's warm 8-) 8-) A terrific storm last night, we have wet walls in the new trophy room and the pump room, as well as one broken garden chair. But the buckets we put by the roof are full and the wheelbarrow is half full :o , so a lot of rain last night.

Hope Ally gets a flight okay and safe journies to all those travelling today.

Today we were thinking about going to the Algarve, for shopping, but have decided to wait until tomorrow - hopefully the wind will have dropped to just gale force and the rain will have stopped.

Stay safe, warm and be careful over there xx

Hopefully your rain won't come all at once next time Jan. Get well soon B! Morning Saundra, well done on the £15 Lissie and I hope your day goes well Di.

Nothing much on here. MrsC has gone to take her dad to his rellies house and we need some bits from Sainsburys. (Or Asda). Off to see film star dog at my daughter's this afternoon. It's very still and cold here, properly freezing. It took me an age to scrape the car free of ice and frost. I hope Jo is OK in the West Midlands, they have had an awful lot of snow down there and apparently all the schools in Birmingham are closed.

Keep warm everyone.

Morning all, hard frost here but no snow and it's sunny and bright. Busy day ahead, lots to do as I am out all day tomorrow and we are away for the day on Wednesday. I need to buy a little bit of sterling, do all the ironing, write more cards ....but first going to the gym to get myself in shape  Mr Osc was supposed to be playing golf but the course is closed due to the frost and it looks unlikely to clear enough to allow play.

Wet and very windy here.

Hope Ally gets off safely.

Good luck at the hospital Di x

Absolutely no plans for today, we don't need anything so will stay indoors in the warm.

Have a good day :)

Good afternoon all, we've got clear blue skies and sunshine but no sign of anything thawing.

I took Joe to the hospital first thing for a blood test. John dropped us off on the way into work and we were in and out in 5 minutes. Getting back was a bit of a challenge though. I'd checked that the buses were running but the ones which run from the hospital to here don't start until 9.25 so we were done by 8.20 and didn't want to hang around the hospital for an hour so walked down to Stafford to get the 9.03 bus home. We got to the bus stop at 8.59 and the electronic board said it was due, as did the app on my phone. It never came and disappeared off the board and the app. When I checked the live map on my phone it was pootling down the A34 out of town so it must've been early and not bothered waiting until it was timetabled to leave. We ended up then getting the next one which was the one we'd have hung around the hospital for.

Oh, and we all got up around 6.30 so that we could be out of the house by 7.30. I was first downstairs so put the kettle on and was just making some porridge to put in the microwave for John and Joe when the electricity went off. I looked out of the window to see if it was just us but it was obviously a power cut as everywhere was in darkness. It was off for about 15 minutes so we were able to get a hot drink and breakfast before going out. Good thing it came on, I was about to start applying my make up by torchlight

I've walked Billy (who LOVES the snow) since getting back.

Hope that Ally's got away with no problems!

Have a good day all!
