Vibes for you all, Jo, especially Joe. I hope he is home as quickly as you expect and that he recovers quickly. xxx

Thanks all xx

Frank, I think one night is the hospital being a bit on the optimistic side really!

He's still waiting. He fainted when a nurse put a cannula in (I would've done the same - I can't even look at them on someone else) and is now connected to a drip to hydrate him a bit so he may be delayed a bit.

He's just gone into theatre, seems the first op took much longer than expected - Joe was second on the list!
Off to slip slide and get the next bus now.

Thanks, we're sat in the now closed restaurant and a nurse came to find us half an hour ago to say he was in recovery so we're just waiting, she said she'll come and get us when he's back on the ward. Tom and Shannon are on the way from the station.

Thank you!

We're just home, the nurse came just after I'd posted my last update to say that he was back on the ward. He was a bit groggy, understandably, but within 5 minutes he'd asked for his phone  He was taken off oxygen and other monitors were taken away over the course of visiting time and he was really chatty in no time. Tom and Shannon arrive shortly after we'd gone onto the ward and then soon afterwards two of his friends turned up which we thought was really lovely of them. They stayed about half an hour with him while we retreated to the restaurant again. They came to see us when they were going and said they'll come to see him again when he's home.

Unless he gets discharged tomorrow, visiting time isn't until 6.30pm-8pm but Rog (future brother in law) is working tomorrow so said he'll pop in to see him as he's going around the hospital, he's been in to see him and John earlier today too. Joe will like that, he thinks the world of Roger.

Oh and I had a big hug off the surgeon :D
John said he asked after me the couple of times when they saw him earlier so when he came in to see Joe this evening he came straight over and gave me a hug, and then another when he was leaving ;)
