Why is it always the drugs that holds up discharges?

What a palaver - take him to a hospital a further 20 miles away from home, only to discharge him from there .... :oops:

At least he can recuperate properly at home now.

Another example of money wasting in the NHS isn't it.
One of the nurses even said that in her experience patients being sick is usually a combination of the last remnants of anaesthetic, pain and the fact that hospital wards are so warm. She said that Joe perked right up once she'd opened the window by his bed and put a fan by him.
