I only posted once about this the other day Kaz and then very very briefly only saying she wasn't coming her anymore; so nothing missed really... basically mom went it for a routine colonoscopy about 3 or so weeks ago and they found and removed one single polyp. First checks all came back clear but for some reason (and I need to ask mom why but haven't had a chance) they had another look and thought something wasn't right so had a closer look and it revealed a few cancerous cells; very small and very early stage. She right away contacted my cousin who put all wheels in motion - they thought it would be best to act quick vs her coming here for Christmas and then doing it all in the new year; he knew she'd worry. Since the result she's had an ultrasound, a whole host of tests as well as a CT scan and all those have come back clear and she's actually really really healthy ;) but it's just that one little polyp that was removed that caused concern; so they're removing that part of her colon today. It's a fairly major surgery for someone her age (she'll be 80 next year) but the prognosis is really very excellent so fingers crossed

The op should be done by now so now it's a case of waiting to hear from my brother who is the hospital contact. x

Morning all :)

Wet and miserable here.

Ria hope your mum's op has gone well and she has a swift recovery x

Up reasonably early, well for us anyway  Need to go to the hospital for a repeat of my blood test. Afterwards will see how the weather is, if it's not actually raining might pop into town for a few bits.

Have a good day :)

Hope that all goes well for your Mom, Ria xx Keep us updated!

Kaz, I hope that D's appointment goes well! Joe's doing great! He's getting cabin fever though I think, he came out with us last night to drop off some presents and we called into Stafford hospital with the biscuits we'd bought and a thank you card. He had nurses flocking around him, telling him how well he looked  His friends are still all in college so there's no one around at the moment but we're planning on a trip into Birmingham on Friday evening as he's been asking when we're going to the German Market.

Lissie, my cousin's little boy must be 5 or 6 now and his name still hasn't grown on me and it's not anything particularly unusual, it's Ted.

Hope all went well with your mom Ria. She'll recover quickly, and best to get rid of the pesky polyps.

Thanks all - just had the message from Frank. Cousin has called and all went well. First impressions is that they got a good clear margin on what was taken out and tests will confirm that. She's now in ICU for observation purposes so all looking and sounding really good for now - yay! :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:
