What will you be watching?

Postby Osc » 23 Dec 2017, 22:41

We've just set our Skybox for the main things we want to see on Christmas Day - Christmas Strictly, Call the Midwife and Mrs Brown's Boys. What you be watching?

I heard a discussion about Christmas viewing and how years ago, the highlight that nobody ever missed would be a light entertainment show like Morcambe and Wise for example. I know our evening viewing would certainly be planned around them, they were wonderful. Then the soaps took over with their increasingly silly storylines. I'd love to see more light entertainment coming back, but I suppose tastes have changed so much now. We also have a few films downloaded.

The other lot!   Victoria.

As a family, we also always used to watch Morecambe and Wise as "de rigueur", but that seems an era ago now. To be honest, there's less and less on TV that we do watch nowadays. This Christmas, we've highlighted Victoria, and the Maigret on Christmas Eve, and that's it, really.

Not much that I fancy watching. Call The Midwife and the Alan Partridge 25 years thing are the only shows that stand out for me. Sure there was one other but I can't think what now.

Dr Who and Strictly, and I think that's it for Christmas day.
We shall record both and watch after dinner.

The sea in Bridlington might not be quite the same ally but we do have a bunch of brave souls who take a dip for charity
