Morning all :D

Bright and sunny but very windy here.

Just heard on the news non emergency ops are to be cancelled, keeping fingers crossed it doesn't affect the hospital here.

Tomorrow is usually shopping day, but we've decided to go today and take advantage of it being dry. We usually keep the decs up until twelfth night, but will probably get started tomorrow, don't think we'll be going far, think rain's forecast for Thursday.

Have a good day :D

Kaz, our black household waste bin was emptied yesterday but I think they've messed up their planning on emptying bins this Christmas. The blue recycling bin hasn't been emptied since the 22nd (early due to Boxing Day being on our normal bin day) and is now almost full, but we have to wait until next Tuesday to have that emptied again and on that day they're also emptying the black bin again for some reason. Really they could've done with emptying both this week.

Jen, I thought about you when I heard the news earlier. Fingers crossed that you're not affected.
We're relieved that Joe's op was done before all of this kicked in. The hospitals here are in a mess apparently, especially A&E. One of the consultants has been apologising on social media, there have been 12hr waits to be seen at Stoke.

Greetings all, a bit of a busy morning at work...

Mom was at the GP today and had her staples removed from her wound. All has healed really well and she's been discharged which is excellent news and I think I'd already posted that all pathology results have come back all clear. Mom is struggling a bit with reaching higher up places so before my sister leaves they'll be going through cupboards to see if there is anything my mom may need and will then get it to counter level. But it's confirmed that I won't need to go over next week.

Same as for most of you, it was a rather blustery night last night and I was dodging a few bins and black bags on my way to the station this morning. Lissie that's really bad of your neighbour; I'd be mortified if that was my rubbish and I'd certainly clean up before I left for work - unless it was dark and s/he hadn't noticed? But given the wind they should have thought and checked!

Well, pootling on at work, leaving usual time and then home via Sainsbury - I've run out of their own brand cat food and Ava is not best pleased! :D

Have a lovely day all and fingers crossed Jen all is full steam ahead for your op x

Good afternoon everybody.
Very strong winds in the night and some rain. Managed to walk to get the paper after breakfast. The wind is not as strong and the sun is trying to come out.
We are having visitors this afternoon as it is mrs.e's birthday. She has had lots of cards.
Our blue bin for paper and cardboard was emptied today. Some had blown over and paper was being blown u the street. Had to pick some up from our garden.
Our bins are collected every three weeks. It is a good system. We don't always put the black bin out which is only for general waste which will not go in the other bins.
What are you going to do with your Christmas cards? M & S used to have a box you could put them in.

Our bins used to be emptied every night, but now we're out in the sticks, they get emptied once a week in the winter and twice weekly in the summer.

The recycling bins, which have only recently arrived near the bar are emptied once a month. And they're biiiiig bins    for some reason, the bottle one is always full

Good news about your mom Ria, glad she's recovered quickly xx

Cruiser, that's something I've been wondering. We don't have a Sainsbury's nearby so I'm hoping that WH Smith will be collecting the cards this January. I know they have in the past but there's much less room in the shop now that they've incorporated the main post office branch.

Our bins are done fortnightly. Blue and green (garden waste) one week and black the next. The black isn't usually even half full after a fortnight and the blue recycling one is only full this fortnight because of the extra rubbish from Christmas (the plastic inners from toiletry gift sets that the boys received have bulked it up a fair bit).
