He must have known Ria as his bin was upside down in the road.
I know it was still dark but his girl friend did`nt go till 9ish so she could have
cleaned up.
Glad your Mum is doing well.
Our dustmen have been very good. They have put a table on their website to tell you
when the bins will be emptied. Ours have been 2 days later for 2 weeks and next week 1 day late
then back to normal so we can`t grumble.

We get a list from the council once a year and they list when the alternate collection dates are (Christmas and Easter time only)... so we all know weeks / months in advance; Guildford council is really good like that and unless it's really bad weather we've not had a missed collection.

As for your neighbour Lissie, that's just shocking if he was aware - hope he has the gumption to apologise at least. As for the girlfriend - the couple upstairs is the same, either he puts our bins out or I do (whoever comes home first puts them out / brings them back in) but she's never lifted a finger in that regard

Jan, what are you like    although can't say I blame you; I'd also rather be out collecting wood vs ironing

Afternoon all. Very blustery here too, with intermittent squally showers and very cold, just a miserable day. I went back to the gym this morning, it was good to be back and our trainer broke us in gently ;) Before I went, I had done some handwashing and also been to the post office to take out some money. When I got back from the gym, we had an early lunch and then set out to do the supermarket shop, but first Mr Osc wanted to look at a bluetooth speaker. We went to our usual electrical store and saw a Sony one we liked the look of. While Mr Osc was googling for reviews, he saw that it was being offered for €20 less at Currys, a 10 minute drive away, so off we went. Got the speaker and a connecting jack for just over €50, and as Mr Osc had found €50 in an old suit pocket last night, we were happy

Did the supermarket shop on the way home and now settled in for the evening, thankfully!

As the day went on it got worse.
First the fence blew down and the little man " who does" has`nt been home all day so will have to try him
tomorrow and see if he can fix it for us.
When i came back from shopping the house felt cold and yes you can guess it--the boiler has gone wrong so no heat
and no hot water.
I phoned straight away and said my husband was disabled and we were both over 80 and they are trying to get someone
out before 10 tonight.
I am just about fed up today.
I have found the electric heater so that is on.

Well it all got collected in the end, including the loose rubbish blowing around, and it's lovely and clean out there again :)

Di I hope you feel better now, I've had a couple of visual migraines and they do feel very strange afterwards :( xxx

I hope your op won't be affected Jen (((x)))

Oh no, Lissie! :(

Ria, that's good news about your mom! :)

Well my day improved after my moan about the rubbish  I went into town for a couple of bits, then Emma came round for lunch - egg mayo and tomato sarnies - and a good gossip and catch up 8-) :D
