Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 05 Jan 2018, 07:13

Good morning.

Forecast lovely again. 8-)

Going into town this morning to meet a friend for coffee and a pitufo. :D

Going back into town at 5pm with Don to watch the Three Kings parades. There are many, many different floats and all the children and adults on them throw sweets to everyone watching. The whole town seems to turn out and it's really good fun. :D

We'll then go for a couple of beers and a bite to eat. :D

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning Ally, Di and all!

Raining here too Di - again!

Housework to do today, starting with some ironing. Joe's in college all day and Tom is back at lunchtime for work. Hopefully there'll be a break in the rain at some point so that Billy can have a walk or two.

Have a good day all!

Morning everyone

Dull again here, with a breakette in the clouds every now and then.

But rain is forecast :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: for most of the day too :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

Ironing still to be done    and I need to find another supplier of wood. If Heldar has some older stuff, fine, if not, it's on the phone and try and find some. And if there is a break in the rain, I must try and plant my potted narcissus. They've flowered and now need to go in the garden.

Enjoy your day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :D

Up extra early as I've got the hairdresser at 9.30am. It really needs doing as I put off going before Christmas so I could have it coloured as near to my op as possible. Definitely won't be going for a while afterwards, even if I could get there, won't be able to sit in a low chair at the basin for some time. Best laid plans and all that, expecting a letter or call any day to say it's been pushed back.

Nearly killed us, but the tree and decs all got put away yesterday afternoon, the house really feels bare.

No plans for this afternoon, will be in recovery mode after getting up at silly o' clock

Have a good day :D

Morning all

Ally, enjoy today and the parade, it really does sound lovely. So tomorrow is when gifts are given - and I assume lots of church attendance? In Germany Three Kings is 'celebrated' only in the catholic church (as far as I am aware) and various groups from the church - three children and two adults - go from house to house in the towns. The children are dressed up as the kings and the adults are usually deacons / elders of the church who have the 'power' to bless a house. So the kids recite a poem, get money and sweets in return for their effors... the adults do the blessing and write the year in chalk on the doorframe of the house and then on to the next house. Money goes to the church, sweets are divided amongst all the participants. I did it one year and it was huge fun.

Jen enjoy the hairdresser and good plan
Di, surprise surprise no rain here but looking at the skies it's not far away - enough of it now. And that wind - still really nippy
Jan hope you get he wood you need and let me know if you want me to find some flowering bulbs for you and post them over?
Jo, fingers crossed you get those walks done in nice weather

Well I'm about to head out, need to arrange for a protective screen for my new phone and then collecting Nadine and Nathan (2nd cousin) and going for the day.

Have a good one all and enjoy whatever it is you're up to xx

Morning all, it is quite bright here and crisply cold, the sort of day you could really wrap up and have a nice walk. I am off to the gym in a while and then may go for a coffee afterwards with some of the girls. Then it's home to the ironing and getting stuff ready for the ball and our night away tomorrow. Mr Osc will be going to play golf shortly.

Cleared up and is bright on and off now :)
Strong wind but not too chilly.

Another visual migraine while I was at art, they seem to come in clusters.
An upset for us all today, a lovely chap has been delivering a tub of chocolates every week for quite a time, certainly before I started going which was October 2015.
He had motor neurone disease and has passed away :(
