Ally, I wondered because we always had our Summer holiday in the 70s and early 80s at Butlins, either Minehead or Pwllheli though. It was brilliant! Loads of us would go - my parents, my Nan, aunties and uncles and cousins - and we'd be in adjoining chalets.

Only have to hear Roxy Music's Dance Away and I'm back in Minehead in 79 at the disco (think it was the Beachcomber) :Hi:

Oh Jen :(

We've just had a letter saying that Joe's follow up appointment is cancelled, but that's a regular occurrence anyway.

We went to Minehead too Jo - it was fab and had a monorail!

Boy did I love that monorail...making Michele stay on it with me for ages.

Till one day we were on it and it malfunctioned. ie. stopped. I was for climbing down off it and getting on with the day but sis had hysterics making me stay with her.

Think this might have been round about the time I realised I quite liked danger.

Jo, Ally, we took B and H to Minehead Butlins a couple of times, when they were much younger - they loved it :D The beach there was nice too :)

Well we had a good day, Amy got her cushion in Ikea which was surprisingly quiet, popped to Boots for Amy to spend the last of her Christmas money on nail polish and I got final things i needed for baby coming, pet shop for more dog food and got a doggy birthday cake as Murphy is 3 on the 15th  then a quick drive-thru McD’s for lunch!

Visited my mum & dad for a few hours and now home in pyjamas resting- not feeling great as my pelvis really aches as theday goes on!

Oh, all the Butlins talk, I remember we took our tourer caravan to Skegness Butlins, I must have been about 9-10, loved it!!! Very happy memories :)

Lots of fab Butlins memories on here. Kaz, Minehead beach was really lovely wasn't it!
I remember at Pwllheli that there was a chairlift to the camp's beach and it was quite a long ride to get there but very picturesque. Think there was a little train that took you there too.
