I have never had a facility with this kind of quiz. It is the part of an IQ test that I totally fail every time and brings my score down into the 110-125 range, depending on the test.
I hadn't realised, until very recently, that I have a fairly severe case of
Aphantasia. I'm not totally image blind but I'm between very dim and absolutely no image. I can see flickers for a fraction of a second if I try very hard.
Apparently Aphantasia has lots of weird impacts on people but hasn't been sufficiently researched. One of the oddest things, for me, is that I dream in full colour images. When I can actually recall a dream which is about once every 2-3 years.
I associate a lot with the
Guardian article on Aphantasia.
Firefox co-creator Blake Ross recently described how it feels to be blind in your mind, and his surprise at the revelation that other people can visualise things. “I can’t ‘see’ my father’s face or a bouncing blue ball, my childhood bedroom or the run I went on ten minutes ago,” he wrote on Facebook. “I thought ‘counting sheep’ was a metaphor. I’m 30 years old and I never knew a human could do any of this. And it is blowing my goddamned mind.”
Quite, imagine reaching that stage at over 50...
So whilst I did not see it till it was pointed out to me, it's not the only blindness in my mind......
