Good morning all.

It's blue sky and sunshine here this morning.

Nothing special for us today, but we've plenty of odd jobs to keep us occupied, and there's the Winter Olympics to watch.

Hope you all have a nice day.

Icy roads Ria, and not estate roads either; A roads. He gave up on the A5 after picking up Bob and went a couple of junctions along the M6 Toll instead. Our neighbour failed to get far along the A34 in an hour so has come back home as she had another 15 miles to go.

There are numerous photos and complaints on Facebook this morning from local people stuck in traffic.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

Good luck with Joe's appointment Jo.

I'm at the hospital at 2.30pm for an updated pre op assessment. Hope I don't get the same nurse as last time, one look at her and my BP's bound to go sky high. She was so inefficient I ended up with a reading in the high 180's and a very bruised arm. Just done it here at home and it was 129/69, will do it again before I leave home.

Have a good day :D

A bruised arm from doing bp Jen, that's terrible!

Had a lovely time, beautiful place all being done up really well.
Good value too, several took up their offer of a regular tea or coffee plus a Danish pastry or a teacake for £3 :)
And came home to a lovely clean house :)

Really hope you get a different nurse Jen! Good luck xx

What a great morning Di!

I've just walked Billy, we got surrounded at one point by 7 dogs off lead, being walked by a 'professional' dog walker, which made Billy a tad anxious. I saw a man further on who we sometimes see earlier and his dog had been worried by them too. That's why I prefer to walk him earlier, mid to late morning there are several walking numbers of usually large dogs off their leads and they have poor control over them.

7 dogs off lead Jo?! :o :o

I would have been anxious too (although I am much, much better dealing with dogs thanks to David) I will always have that slight worry if I were to encounter as many as that.

Yep, 7 :?
They charge around £10 per dog too so that'll be why they walk so many at a time.
It makes me anxious too, for Billy's safety and for mine, because it's really not nice being surrounded by a group of dogs who you don't know and who've run up to you in a pack :?

Afternoon all, glorious sunny day here although very cold. Gym this morning, I had tweaked my back slightly before I went (changing the duvet cover  ) but our trainer made sure I didn't do anything to exacerbate it and told me to stretch it out gently again this evening. Then six of us spent an hour in the cafe next door chatting about all sorts of things. As I got home, Mr Osc was heading off to the golf course. I had my lunch, I've been to the post office, tried on a pair of trousers in a local shop (too small), and paid the balance of our June cruise. At the post office, I got a sterling cash card as we have four trips to the UK this year, so now I need to go and register it online.

Well guess what it was the same nurse, my heart sank and I thought surely she'll be better this time. Sadly not, it took her 3 goes to get my BP and yes my arm is marked again, thankfully not as bad as last time. It was the blood test this time, she had two goes on one arm, in the crook of the elbow and on my wrist, apparently it was going in but no blood??? Thankfully she decided to give up and sent me down to the path lab and of course it took one go without any trouble. The lady down there couldn't understand what happened, my veins are really good. Did have one issue there though, another patient's paperwork was underneath mine in the envelope. Caused a bit of a stir and I think someone will be getting a telling off. Doesn't inspire much confidence tbh, just hope I don't have to deal with the same nurse again.
