Thank you everyone. I've been going overboard on the celebrations - they started on 10th Feb and the last thing I have booked is on 28th April!!!!! I'm pushing the boat out on being 50. I've had some fab presents(there was rather a theme and I had a lot of gin and prossecco but also some beautiful jewellery) and some fab nights out.
As usual I'll apologise for not being on the boards - Ali gave messaged me yesterday and told me to get myself on here as I'd had some birthday wishes - life is very, very busy.
I'm still working at the doctors surgery but have upped my hours temporarily so am now working 4 days a week as I'm working in the secretaries office one day each week. I'm still loving the job, as stressful as it can be dealing with awkward patients.
Things are good with Lucy at the moment. Very good.
She just seems to be a normal 15 year old - so therefore a pain in the ass but nothing like before.
She has been so much more outgoing since she spilt up with Simon - out and about with lots of different friends and always being home on time. She seems to have settled down at school - the phone calls from school have stopped and the texts from her during school time are now ones asking if she can go out after school rather than can I pick her up as she wants to go home.
School have got her some TA (teaching assistant) hours which is really helping. Its only temporary at the moment but will hopefully continue. She has 20 hours TA support a week for the next term and then 15 hours a week for the following term. They need to apply for more funding after that and we have applied for EHC funding. As she has 25 hours worth of lessons a week the TA support is massive. She doesn't actually need help with the work - the help is to get her into the classes and keep her there.
She just seems happy at the moment which has had a massive effect on Mick and I. Our relationship is better and I just feel so much more relaxed. I've started going out more again and I'm not constantly checking my phone to make sure all is okay at home. I just feel happy again.
Shelby is doing well although she is a pain in the bum too. She is obsessed with piercings and has lots of them although none are very visible as she isn't allowed them on her college course. She's also had two tattoo's which I daren't tell Mick about as he will hit the roof. I do think she's stupid having them - one is particularly horrible - and I was cross that someone had actually done them when she isn't 18 yet. But its her body and her mistake to live with. She's still enjoying her college course (uniformed services) and although she isn't 100% sure what she wants to do when she leaves (she may stay on and do another year but we aren't too keen on her doing that as we think she's just doing it because she doesn't know what else to do) she is currently considering the RAF military police. She's still keen on dog handling and they do lots of that.
Yet again I promise I'll try and get in more often.
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone!
