Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 22 Feb 2018, 06:37

Good morning.

Another fine day forecast. 8-) 8-)

I'm going into work this morning for 9am. 3 of my students are taking their B2 speaking exam this Saturday and Boss Lady always sets a classroom up a few days before just to give them a feel for the real situation and gives them a mock exam - I'm doing the honours this morning! I also have some VERY exciting news re work which I'll reveal later. :Hi: :Hi:

I'm not going to bother coming home when I finish so I'll have a pootle in town and a spot of lunch with my colleague Karen. :D

Work 4 - 9 then home to resident chef's home made meatballs. :D :D

Have a great day everyone.

Morning Ally, morning all :)
A lovely one it is too, although getting colder.

Look forward to your news Ally.

Craft for me this morning, though I'll be doing more coffee and chat, been awake a lot with nerve pain in my back/shoulder blade. Never mind, the company will take my mind off it.
Was going to go to White Stuff as they have 20% off, but just noticed it's on now online but 5pm in the shops.
There's a top I want to try on, but don't want to go twice.

I don't like meatballs, one of those odd quirks we all have :)

Hope you all have this lovely weather, and have a good day

Morning Ally, Di and everyone

Gorgeous morning here 8-) Not a breath of wind and lovely blue sky.

So we're going to spoil it with several bonfires     We have until 15 March, to clear the land, cut back trees etc. Portugal is doing such a hard push this year in the hope that we won't have so many deaths due to the fires this year. Expecting either the GNR or Bombeiros to come round at some stage, either to tell us we're okay or give us hefty fine

We just need a couple of trees cut back and we're clearing the drive this week-end. Next door will have huge problems, as he's only cleared around his house and ignored the rest - and it's very overgrown

Looking forward to hearing your good news Ally x

have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Can't wait to hear your news Ally! 8-) :D

Hope your shoulder pain wears off later Di (((x)))

Hope your bonfires go ok Jan, and you get the OK 8-)

It's fine here, like a nice early Spring day :) Out for a walk soon, then up to see D later :) I went back to zumba last night, for the first time since my neck and shoulder started playing up. It was fine as I was careful :) Pilates tonight :)

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Good morning all. It's a lovely sunny morning here, although a bit colder than yesterday.
Just right for a brisk walk, which I will be taking shortly.

Not much planned for today, except getting ready for my Golden Oldies Music event this evening.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

Morning all

Sorry about your neck pain Di, but as you say - the company and natter will be nice and take your mind off things. Re the top, could you not go in to the store to try on and then if it fits order it online? Or would that be too risky in that they may not have stock?

Jan, hopefully if the GNR or Bombeiros do come round and they're not happy with what you've done they'll advise on what more needs doing and then give you a chance to fix. As for the neighbours, if they haven't even tried then they'd deserve a hefty fine; that's just being so irresponsible

Ally, good luck to your students and such a good idea to get them used to the environment; it'll make it so much easier for them. And will be keeping an eye open on your news :D

Kaz, it's rather grey here and the air is very nippy - but they have warned that next weekend it's going to be bitterly cold so this is just the build up to it.

Aggers, enjoy the evening; your fellow residents are lucky to have you doing that for them; they sound like good fun

Usual / usual for me - yay

Have a lovely day all xx

Good morning all, it's a lovely one here.

Billy's had a long walk and Joe's out on his driving lesson. There's housework to do and it's food shopping night tonight. I'll walk Billy again before then though.

I've just booked a hair appointment for in two weeks time, I might have a couple of inches cut off rather than the usual trim.

Hope the pain eases soon Di xx

Jan, is this land clearing a regular thing or something new brought in?

Have a good day all!

New this year Jo. there were a lot of deaths, mostly up north, because of the horrific fires we had last year. The worst for a long time.

So new laws have been rushed through. No trees or bushes within 50 metres of your house. All eucalyptus and pine to be at least 4 metres between trees (can't see that one happening  ). All land to be clear of over grown grasses, shrubs, trees. All dead trees to be removed. You should have at least, if you can, 50 metres around your house that is clean and weed-free.

Fruit trees and natural trees, cork oak, oak are okay though, but none of them should be touching another tree and all trees should not over hang buildings, houses etc.

We're okay, apart from a couple of trees and we'll get Jose Felipe to cut them back.

Just having the bonfires to clear the weeds and estevas as have cut down and back from our boundary.

Just rung the bombeiros and we're okay to have a fire, told him it will be lots of small ones.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny today 8-)

Hope the pain eases soon Di xx

Look forward to hearing your news Ally.

Had a much better night thank goodness. Drinking lots of water so hopefully that's helping.

Off out shopping later, M&S and then Tesco. This evening it's quiz night, there's only 3 of us this week, most teams have 8 peeps so I think we'll be well and truly out performed. Should be fun though.

Have a good day :D

Won't be going in today anyway Ria, can't think straight with this pain.
Only worth ordering online for click and collect, am hoping I'll feel ok tomorrow.
Gp is phoning me, don't know when, but two lots of paracetamol and one of ibuprofen haven't touched it.
