Morning all :)

Pepper seems ok, just a bit quiet - thanks for asking :) xxxx

Jo, I'm exactly the same, hate doing that :? Having said that, D is having a smart meter put in today, and as it's one of the days I go to see her I'll probably be there while it's going on

Hope all goes well at the hossie Di xxx

Lissie, wow!! :o

Ria, it just seems like a normal if slightly frosty day here too!

About to walk into town, but first I need to pop next door to Sue's, to rearrange our plans for Thursday morning. We were having coffee in town and walking into town together, but a physio appointment has come through for me so we need either to change the date, or for her to meet me in town afterwards. I'll leave the choice to her, I'm easy either way :)

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Wow Lizzie

Kaz, good idea to be there when the smart meter is installed. D sounds like a very with it and sensible person, but you hear so many horror stories of elderly people being ripped off etc. And very glad Pepper seems OK. She'll be quiet after the anaesthetic so as long as she has somewhere warm and soft to sleep it all off, come the weekend she'll be right as rain again x

What a difference the snow makes reflecting the light into my dark front room some of it is melting on the roof
Just put some braising steak in the slow cooker with mushrooms and onion so that's tea for the next two nights I'm prepared

Morning all :D

Just flurries of snow yesterday late afternoon, but apparently it came down in force early hours of this morning and we woke up to a winter wonderland. The sun's shining brightly so think it will thaw a little, the forecast is for more so we'll see.

Good luck at the hospital Di, hope the pain has eased a bit xx

Lots of running around yesterday, woke after a fitful night in lots of discomfort, obviously the anitbiotics didn't get rid of the infection. Rang the surgery and then had to hang around for a couple of hours waiting for my GP to ring me back. Then up to the surgery for another prescription for a different drug which he hopes will knock it on it's head in time for Thursday. Last night was better, feeling icky though. Will see how the day goes, really hope these pills work.

Have a good day and stay warm xx

Good morning all. Just walked up to the local shop .

Just a sprinkling of snow here - so far, but a cold wind.

Wrap up warm if you go out today.

No rain yet

But a keema curry made and I've done other bits and bobs - as well as admiring how quickly the weeds have grown

Afternoon all, it is bright here but bitterly cold with a very occasional flurry of something white, plus the wind is getting up now. We are still planning to go tomorrow, it looks now as if we might get out of Dublin and our problem coukd be getting home on Friday  If the flight is cancelled, we will get a full refund. I spoke to the hotel this morning and while the policy is no refund, each case goes to the general manager who makes the decision, and I got the impression that he might consider holding our money against a future trip. The golf course is going to be closed anyway, so SIL will get a refund for that. All we can do now is go with the flow, whatever happens is out of our control. It is all rather stressful though. It is making it hard to motivate myself and do the packing. Ho hum.

Good afternoon everybody.
Snow everywhere when I got up this morning. Managed to walk to get the paper. Main road was clear as it is on a bus route. Cleared snow of car as we were going to a funeral. Left early as I thought there could be hold ups due to the weather. Got to the crematorium soon after 10.00a.m. The car park was empty. Usually it is full Our service did not start till 10.00 a.m. Other people soon started to arrive. After the service we had a buffet lunch in a local pub.
Back home now with lovely sunny weather and most of the snow has gone. Some of the people who wanted to come to the funeral couldn't make it as he snow was too deep. They live nearer the Peninnes.
