We visited one of wife's sister who has just gone into a home as she has dementia.
If that is what you get for £1,100 a week then I would settle for a little pill.

Some of them are dreadful, aren't they?

My father owned a residential home and always made sure that the residents were clean, and the home not smelly. And those who wanted, were taken out on excursions, walks etc. Not just sat or even tied to a chair to stop them roaming.

When he had to go in one himself, he was horrified, but it was one of the better one's.

Hugs for your wife Vic xx

That's sad Vic.
I know it's an emotive subject and there's no "right" answer, but I'd go for the pill as well.

You probably get better treatment in prison.
Used to go and see an Auntie who was in a home. She was not ill but couldn't live in the flat she owned. Very small room and shared facilities. Wouldn't have liked to live there.
My wife said she wouldn't last long in a home. She would probably starve as she woudn't like the food.

When I was teaching adult literacy and numeracy I visited many homes and they appear to come in only two flavours - decent and appalling.

I am another for the pill.
